The table filled with candy has become one of the most popular wedding favors in recent years. As with any idea, once it has been done a bunch of times, it can lose some of the "wow" factor that every bride wants for her wedding. Try these fresh designs for wedding candy bars to ensure that your sweets table is as fantastic as it is tasty.

One easy way to create a wedding candy bar with style is to pick one signature color for everything in the display. In many cases, the color will be the same as your wedding colors. After all, you picked everything from flowers to bridesmaid jewelry in your favorite hue, why not your candy station? Virtually any color palette, from yellow to pink to red to blue can be used for all of your sweets. Display the candy in clear vessels so that your color story will really pop from across the room. A striped tablecloth to coordinate will finish off the display nicely.

Vintage candy displays are another great design for wedding candy bars. If your wedding is formal, bring that feeling through to your favor station. Antique silver footed vessels and bowls make gorgeous candy containers, and will lend that touch of elegance to your reception. Personalized candies such as monogrammed M&Ms are another upscale detail.

Your wedding candy bar can also do double duty as escort cards. A really cute idea is to set small containers out filled with candy, and plant a tiny banner in each one with the name of a guest. Choose vessels which tie in with the rest of your wedding decor. Mini terracotta pots would be adorable for a garden wedding, clear square containers would suit a modern reception, or select a tiny vase in your wedding colors. Additional large containers of candy can be placed on the table for refills throughout the reception or on the way out at the end of the evening. This sure beats the standard white tent escort card!

Theme or specialty candy is also a great way to add style to a wedding candy station. If your wedding is the picture of glamor, right down to the sparkling crystal bridesmaid jewelry on your girls, choose sweets with a touch of shimmer and shine. Old fashioned rock candy on sticks will look almost like oversized crystals. A super fun idea is to set out candy jewelry, such as edible rings and even those candy necklaces. Your guests will have as much fun picking their candy as eating it!

Nostalgic candy is a neat way to make a wedding candy bar more interesting. Rent gumball machines (maybe fill one with fake rub-on tattoos!) and set out apothecary jars of penny candy. Watch your guests' faces light up as they walk down memory lane. Or go with a theme, such as movie theater candy. Fill jars with Sno-caps, Raisinettes, Jujubees, and Junior Mints. Offer popcorn balls in a large bowl on the candy table, and set out striped paper bags that guests can fill with their favorites. This is a sweet ending that everyone will be sure to enjoy!
