So it's Valentine's Day again but you're bored of the routine of gifts off the shelves followed by fine wine and dine. Well, instead of making reservations in fancy restaurants and hotels, how about you make your man a reservation card for a special dinner at home? Home cooked meals are always much better than outside food, so pull out your chef hat and whip up a delicious finger licking good meal for dinner.

If you're stumped about what to make, you could either go with the classic romantic dinner or swing Italian as these two never fail. The classic would be the choice of beef or lamb stake along with a salad dish, some mashed potatoes a basket of bread and a fine bottle of red wine to complement the red meat. If you decide to go Italian, then whip up a pasta dish; with this you can make absolutely anything because pasta has too many varieties to list down. Complete the dinner with a salad, some Italian bread and some wine if you'd like and you're all set.

If cooking just isn't you're thing, then don't worry about having dinner themes. Just get on the internet and look up simple recipes to his favorite food or something you're confident enough to make and can bet on it tasting good. The few simple dishes you could stick too would be lasagna, Caesar salads, mashed potatoes and fried chicken and so on. Maybe you could get some help around the kitchen if you need it.

A few things to remember would be to make sure you know what he may be allergic too and avoid cooking anything with it; you surely don't want to spend Valentine's night in the emergency room, now do you. Besides that, always set the mood. You don't have to go all out and start from the front door, just dim the lights over dinner or whip out your candle sticks and have a nice dinner over the tiny flames. Also, put on his favourite CD, a tip for music, jazz always works best.

All in all, don't worry too much about how the dinner to go, if your man holds your heart, he would be sure to love whatever it is that you make be it from scratch or out of a box or jar. So relax and take it easy, you've got to enjoy Valentine's Day!
