Have you or one of your one of your kids discovered an interest in taking up drumming? Maybe you've found out that your child is constantly banging on anything, including old pans with wooden spoons. If it hasn't driven you crazy, you may be considering purchasing them an actual set of drums. Or maybe you are a beginning drummer and are considering purchasing a drum kit for yourself. If so, you should consider a junior drum set for yourself or your child.

Apart from the noise, drumming can help young ones develop skills that translate to lots of other activities. If there is a chance for your child to start drumming early in life, that is an opportunity you should pursue. Drumming teaches individual outstanding rhythm skills, which are useful in playing virtually any instrument, and also is helpful in lots of other activities such as sports, dance, and singing.

When beginning the search for a child drum kit, there are lots of them available in all types of sizes and configurations. For children and new drummers, we almost always recommend a junior drum set, the first reason being the cost when compared to a full drum kit. With a junior drum set, your child will get close to a full set which is also generally high in quality, and is very well equipped for practicing and learning.

So as you perform your search for a first drum kit, whether on the web or in stores, look for a junior drum set. You can also look for a used starter drum kit, another excellent alternative. In fact many older, long playing drummers likely started drumming on junior drums and have upgraded to a full drum kit. This means they are ready to sell their used jr drum set. Because drum quality is usually very good, used drums are normally in fine condition.

The other reason junior drum sets make sense for kids and a beginner is that it enables you to validate that they will enjoy the activity long term before purchasing a full set. Once your little one enjoys the junior drums for a while, he/she will eventually upgrade to a full set. If they decide that drumming is their liking, you've made a smaller investment. Remember, junior sets are usually great for children as they aren't toys, but real musical instruments. They are perfect for kids because they can stand up to the beating kids will give them.

There are many sites on the web where you are able to buy new and used drum kit. There are hundreds of sets available, and many of these drum sets are for children. There is no doubt that you will find great buys online and you can readily compare prices and narrow down your options. Again, we suggest looking at used junior drum sets if you are purchasing your first one. Drumming is a great hobby for a beginner or a child. I got an XM radio xpress car kit. How do I set it up in my 2001 Honda Civic?

I received an XM radio with a car kit. I have a 2001 Honda Civic ( 4 door). I pulled out all the stuff and I am lost with all the connections. Does any one have any insight for me?

It all depends on how you wish to hook it up.
You can set it up to run off of your car radios FM frequency using just the XM system itself (Set your radio to the same frequency as your XM frequency)
Or you can but, and plug in an antenna adapter. This will require you to take your dash apart a little bit and connect a splicer cable to your antenna jack coming out of the back of your stereo. Then you will repeat the same steps as the cars radio setup I spoke of.
The final option is an AUX port, but the 2001 Civic didnt have an AUX port so dont worry about that one.

Now to set up the system itself. You should get all the wires out and determine how you are going to run them prior to starting.

You will have four main compontents (if doing the setup to run through car stereo).
1. XM radio
2. Power cable
3. Satellite Antenna
4. FM Antenna

You can mount the XM radio where ever you want by any means.
You want the Satellite antenna to be preferably mounted on the top of you roof near the back window. This will take most of your time as you will need to take some interior parts off of your car.
Next you want to mount the FM antenna, you didnt say what model Civic you have so I will just assume yours has the antenna integrated into the rear windsheild. Place the FM antenna as close as possible to your antenna box (odd looking box on your rear windshield).

Plug your power cord into your 12v power (cigarette lighter)

And you are ready to go.
