Oil painting is one of the most creative artistic forms that you can use to reproduce your thoughts on the canvas. But, in order to skillfully play around with the paints and your imaginations, you need the perfect oil painting brush.

They are different types of paint brushes available in the market. You need to choose your brushes properly because this will decide how effective your painting will be. Among the most important things that an artist requires to put down his thoughts on the canvas are:

• A good set of brush
• The palette
• Canvas board
• Oil Paints

There are different types of paint brushes available, some of them are fan, big, angle, square, small, mop, and rigger, among a few. All these different types of paint brushes differ in size and shape. The fiber that is used in the brush mainly includes synthetic fibers, or natural hair. Some of the brushes are also made with a combination of both.

They are obtainable in dissimilar size. Some painting brushes come in the shape of a pencil tip and others are in the size as large as brushes used at home. Artists have the freedom to use any size or shape of oil paint brush.

Here are some tips about the different types of oil painting brushes available in the market:

To start off in painting, you initially need two types of brushes that come in different shapes. It is recommended that you stick to the basic forms such as - basics Flats, and Filberts. Flat brushes help you to create sharp edges, whereas the Filberts ones help in creating round and softer strokes.

If you intend to create a painting in size over 18 inches by 24 inches, then it is necessary that you use a larger painting brush to create the right effect. It is important to use a painting brush carefully, because it determines the quality and fine quality of your paint.

In which folder should I put the sparkle brush set i just downloaded for GIMP?

ok i just downloaded a sparkle brush set for the GIMP program n i have no idea where i should put it in the GIMP folder. please help me out! thanks in advance.

save it to C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\ 2.0\brushes (i added 1 space to show the folder path), after save, the brush won't be available to choose, then Ctrl+Shift+b to open brush dialog, click the lower right corner refresh brushes button, the newly added brush will show for selecting.
