Out of all the Desktop PCs sold, desktops account for only about half, and this includes both business sales and personal home sales combined. A decade ago, this number was much larger - well before the wireless technology turned computer usage into a mobile asset with laptops and netbooks and Blackberries.

For those who have learned to prefer laptops, they love the fact that laptops can go anywhere with the right wireless setup, and work for hours on end without additional power supplies. Many laptop batteries can last over four hours. With desktops, if the power goes out, you lose your computer.

In some areas of the country, power fluctuations are common in bad weather and for other reasons as well. Each time the power goes off, a desktop turns off if it doesn't have an additional external power supply. A laptop, on the other hand, isn't affected by these power fluctuations because of its internal power supply.

Pricing has really dropped over the years as well. Only a few years ago a desktop with only a gig of ram could easily run well over $1,000. For an equivalent machine now, the price has dropped to about $700 or less, with RAM averaging 2-4 gb and hard drives starting at 250 gb.

If you like to work on the run, a desk top is not going to help you. You'll need a laptop with identical files, or at least a flash drive that has the information you need to carry with you. There are also sites and software that allow you to work on one computer while using another.

Some hard core users say desktop computers last longer, but with recent advances that's rarely the case. It's not that the hardware breaks, it's that the technology simply becomes outdated. If you like to buy new technology with each major upgrade, it won't matter if you have a desktop or a laptop.

how do i install my phone to connect to samsung pc studio 3?

i have a sync (a707) its set to the usb setting...i have samsung pc studio 3 on my computer its set to usb setting.

You probably have an issue w/ the driver.

To verify, connect your phone to the pc and then go to the Device Manager. If you see any component that has a yellow icon w/ an exclamation point beside it that means you need to update that particular component/driver.

Call 1-800-SAMSUNG for a better walk thru on updating your drivers.
