Transgender issues please advise me...?
My wife saw some pix of me by accident on the pc and she does not think I look good as a woman, citing that womens clothes are designed for women etc etc..but she has since suggested I join a support group so I can talk with other crosdressers and get support from them. Thing is I really do want to work it out with her, I don't wanna go to a support group where I may find people at all places of the spectrum, but none that I can relate to.
I would love it if she did my makeup, as it is I am looking to go to a professional photoshoot in January (not a transngender photo shoot as all the pix look the same, and I was not that pleased with the results)
She is supportive but still gets annoyed with me sometimes and does not want me wearing those clothes in the house, but will buy me perfume and says that of all the things, she is totally fine with me wearing womens perfume.
Should I go to the group / club then, should I find one or not? Does anyone have experience of such places??
Sounds like she just tolerates your crossdressing. It's a tall order to get at least minimal support. Being transgender myself, I wonder if it's just a label or if this is just who I'am. I mean that in term of I like guy things as well, as well as girl things, or things considered by the social norm to be girl things.
It's nothing for a woman to wear a t-shirt and jeans with sneakers. In fact these things have been altered for woman. Yet, men have no outlet to express the full range of feelings.
I was dating a women and the opportunity came up for me to incorporate my fem side. I was lucky enough that she was open-minded and we had many great times sharing on the feminine side of things. We got to talk fashiion, she opened up to me as never before on a broad range of issues we never discussed prior.
If women and men could just get past the cultural shock that men have more than just the charles bronson thing happening or that football and beer isn't all we live for.
Another pitfall is that women become offended and freightened when you walk into there well guarded secure territory. Far too long women have been trampling what was man's territory in the name of liberation. It's your turn now.
Oh by the way, keep on hand the number of a good divorce lawyer. Life isn't fair and never will be. With this subject like all others that involve our own lives, be mindful, don't live in denial and remember every choice we make has consequences.
The draw of being transgender is very strong and can consume a tgirl, especially when settled into a marriage that grows common and boring. I've known many tgirls that are middle aged and divorced. They were rejected and felt unsupported by there spouse and problems (more walls) just started to infect the rest of the marriage. This is extremely common. Married and having never had the chance to live the things they dreamed of doing. Going out to clubs and flirting or even exploring intimacy as a women.
Sorry for the rambling. That hasn't been my experince, it's just what I've witnessed with most married tgirls. The way I was successful was I didn't dress all the time and I started out wearing women's jeans and sandles with a women's t-shirt. At my suggestion we shopped together and I interacted with her, helping her pick clothes out and complimenting her, which she made everything look great anyway.
We had fun doing makeovers on her, (hair and makeup). One key thing was that I started picking up many of the chores that were considered her's. I started planning meals and doing the shopping, I increased my end of cleaning around the house. I guess I wanted to show her that I wasn't just talking but walking the walk too. I tried to show her that this wasn't just some fetish thing, but that I was comfortable enough to be who I am. We also talked indept about my feelings and I respected her valid concerns and showed her that I respected them. Talk is cheap.
