I am a Mary Kay Consultant who needs customers. Why is the best selling brand (94%) so hard to sell?
I've been a MK lady for 7 months, and cannot beg, borrow, or steal a party, facial, or a customer. Everyone cancels. I go by the book, the 'guaranteed' way to do it, and it isn't working for me. Any suggestions?
Someone said its so hard to do these days as there so many brands out there. don't let that be an excuse if you believe in the product and are excited about sharing your knowledge the customers will see this. so First really research evey nook and cranny you can think of about this product understand different types of skin types from oily to dry to sensitive etc..
once you feel really comfortable in selling the product then start more parties. could be your lacking in knowledge and excitement about the product and customers can tell if you know what your talking about or just skimming through it quickly. also its okay if you don't have all the answers write it down take the ladies phone number and tell her you'll call the office or your contact person and will get right back to her. remember she is a potential customer there all good.
so then your confidence will shine through so when you have a party you can explain more in detail to the ladies.
now for getting more business in. have you made up flyers put them around your neigbourhood or certain places where you feel the most women would be at.
you can also have a summer sale or in this case end of summer sale. or you could mention brides ( weddings this time of year are popular you want to hit that market also.)
can do something for young teens. its never to early to take care of your skin type headline then put on the recommended pictures for that age group etc.. you get the idea you need to be creative .
Mention to the ladies when there in the room. who ever has a showing will get 30 % off or what ever you can afford. or you could say who ever books a show gets a complimentary gift bag full of ????? what ever you think is good items to give .
If you want and your comfortable you can pick a lady from the room and offer to make her face over so let the other ladies watch and see how easy it is and at the same time your applying stuff make sure your explaining what it will do for her skin etc...
you could say anyone who spends 100.00 or more recieves this??? decide what you want to give them from your line. or you can say they will recieve 30% off of each addtional item once over the 100 mark.
you could go by something small from your mary kay like a nice make up bag to go along with all the stuff they will buy from you and you can say if your a hostess and you have a show you will get this plus some nice free goodies from the mary kay line inside.
or anyone who decides to be a host will get 10% off of everything they buy. or higher depending on how much you want to give away.
but you get the idea here you want to bring people in and have them coming back and while your having these shows thats the time to get others to sign up for a show while they are there listening to your speech and prduct. its to late if they went home. so while your selling your product you want to keep your eyes open and have personal conversations with these ladies letting them know if they were to have a show they could have a discount of this much. perhaps wait till you see one lady willing to buy a product and say well you know Joyce if you had a show I could give you that product for 20% less. ( the idea here is yeah you lose 20 % but your gainging a whole new crowd coming over again who will want to spend much more than you losing 20% off of a product ) sometimes you have to put out something to get something back.
if you get any new product lines or samples you can get from mary k cosmetics. you can have a give way with the intention of getting phone numbers and names from these ladies ( you dont' tell them this of course this is for you to follow up and call them later explaining you just got a nice colour lipstick in and you think she'd like it. ) but how do you get there phone numbers and names without looking pushy. have a free bee give away.
get a hat or garbage pail something to hold the papers in. go around and give everyone a paper ( perferably something nice not ripped up paper get something from the dollar store with flowers or birds or soemthing for sumer) have each woman write down her name and number and put it in the bag. and you will draw names for people to recieve a free gift. you could even go to a dollar store and buy something nice but cheap for them as a thank you gift for coming. the idea here again is your drumming up more business and you want these ladies to have a show of there own.
