The first myth: "Clipping your ends will make your hair grow". This myth is ABSOLUTELY false! Clipping the ends does nothing, but makes the hair look neat. It does not prevent breakage nor does it promote hair growth. I mean use common sense! How can cutting the hair make the hair longer? In reality this only makes the hair shorter and prevents women from adding length.

The second myth: "Hair food and vitamins make your hair grow". Another false myth. Hair is dead so why does it need food or vitamins? Nothing will make your hair grow faster. Hair grows an average of 1/2 inch a month. Greases, hair food greases, or pills will not add length to your hair.

Myth 3: "Washing your hair too much will dry out your hair". FALSE! Black hair is the driest hair on the planet and we need moisture to prevent breakage so how can washing it dry it out when water is moisture? The only way you will dry your hair out through washings is by using harsh shampoos. Use a pH balanced shampoo that is geared for your hair type instead and wash your hair weekly.

Myth 4: "Braids make your hair grow". Once again another lie. Braids will NOT make your hair grow. It can promote damage if braided too tightly or give hair a rest, but it will not make your hair grow.

So now you know some facts and how to approach growing your hair in a sensible manner. Growing black hair is not about what products you use or how often you visit the salon. It's just common sense! Maintaining the proper moisture balance and keeping your hair well conditioned is the key to long beautiful black hair!

How to Grow Long Black Hair

Growing your hair is very simple. The following steps are what you need to take to grow you hair and give it the best possible chance of gaining length that has never before been attained by you. These steps are: Shampooing, Conditioning, Moisturizing and Maintaining.

Shampooing

First you should shampoo your hair every 3-7 days. Never go beyond a week without washing your hair Since our has is already dry and using relaxers and heated appliances aids in drying out our already dry hair your hair needs to be exposed to water more frequently.

Conditioning

Weekly conditioning is neccessary for strong beautiful hair Conditioning will repair your hair and help seal in vital moisture.You should use a protein conditioner that contains oil to seal in the moisture and a scalp stimulate.

Moisturizing

Your hair needs to have a moisturizer applied daily and this doesn't mean a hair oil, but a hair lotion. The moisturizer should be free of mineral oil, protein and petroluem and the first ingredient should be water along with humercants and oils. This will help keep the hair moisturized to prevent breakage due to dryness.

How do i keep my makeup from running and my hair from curling at a dance, is there special products i can use?

the thing is, i have a lot of school dances,
and they are so much fun
but everytime i go,
my eyeliner runs and i always have to go touch it up in the bathroom, and then, my hair starts to curl.
the reason for this is probably the heat.
but i really hope someone knows a product i can use to keep my makeup from running and to make my hair STAY* straigt.
