Makeup Brush Mineral

All mineral makeup brands are not created equal.

Just as with any other type of makeup, or any type of product at all, for that matter, some companies use only top of the line ingredients, while others cut as many corners as possible while still turning out a product that meets all the requirements of safety.

Sheer Cover is one such company, that you may have seen as it appears in quite a few infomercials. Then there's bareMinerals, perhaps the first if not one of the first mineral makeup brands. Mineral Silk, CMH Essentials, Sheer Miracle, and Lauren Hutton's AquaElements are also popular brands.

Of what types of material do mineral makeups consist?

The foundations can consist of such finely ground minerals as:

Mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, zinc oxide.

The blushes and bronzers can consist of such minerals as:

Mica, iron oxides, titanium dioxide

Finishing Veils: Serecite, iron oxides, titanium dioxide, kaolin clay.

Mineral eye colors: Mica, serecite, iron oxides, titanium dioxide, kaolin clay.

Concealer and Color Correctors: Mica, serecite, kaolin clay, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxides

It all depends on what effect is trying to be achieved.

Most mineral makeup brands will not contain bismuth - many people are allergic, and talcs or cornstarch, which can clog pores, are also not used by most brands. Although many of the most famous makeup brands use minerals in their own products, what really sets mineral makeup brands apart are the fact that they typically don't use fragrances, binders, synthetic dyes, and preservatives.

In order to make sure that you use the best mineral makeup brand for you, the best thing to do is search the web for reviews on each brand. These reviews might not tell you everything you need to know - after all, everyone has different issues with their skin - but they will help you make an educated decision.
