Why are sponge-tip eyeshadow applicators unsanitary?
Shouldn't they be just as sanitary as makeup brushes if I clean them regularly?
Because make up brushes are easier to clean. The sponge tips can harbor more germs and bacteria and it soaks into the spongey material so it's hard to clean it all away. However, if they are going to be used for your personal use, you should be fine. Just toss them out if you get pink eye or any other eye infection to decrease the risk of you getting this again.
