Curler Makeup

If you're getting tired of having the straight hair you were born with, try giving it some oomph with curls for a change of pace. A lot of alternative methods exist for curling hair, ranging from using curling irons, to hot rollers or foam rollers. Whichever method you pick, use these steps and you will have bouncier hair.   Equipment: Curlers or curling iron Curler pins Spray-on conditioner Hair Comb  

Step 1: Pick a technique for curling your hair. The main difference between the techniques is that one uses heat and one doesn't. It is important to remember that excessive or repeated use of heat can damage hair. Omit the second step if you are going to use a curling iron or hot rollers.  

Step 2: Wet your hair, then use a wide-toothed comb to smooth out any knots. Your hair ought to still be wet but not dripping wet. Your hair should be able to be combed through without any knots in it.  

Step 3: Use a conditioning spray on your hair. Apply a "no-frizz" or heat-shielding conditioner if you use a curling iron or heated rollers.  

Step 4: Using clips, divide your hair into sections to make it easier to work with. Begin at the back and pull your hair into appropriately sized sections. The size of each area is determined by the curler size you have. To achieve big curls, try the bigger curlers using portions of hair as much as 2" across. Use smaller sections if you want smaller curls. Divide the back, both sides in the front and back of your ears to make it easily accessible.  

Step 5: Separate each area for curling. Beginning with the first area, take a comb and divide into a fine top layer.

Step 6: Beginning at the ends, wind the locks over the curler. Make certain that you wind the locks evenly and fasten securely using a bobby pin. For an even look, use the same size curlers all over the head. If you want a tapering style (especially if your hair has layers), think about using big curlers on the sides and the back, and then little curlers for the top and front parts.  

Step 7: Continue to wrap the hair around the curlers. Do it again for the rest of the hair in the section, and then you can move to the sides of the hair. Hair should be firmly wrapped on the curlers.  

Step 8: Allow your hair to totally dry out. Avoid touching your locks or taking out the curlers unless your hair has had a chance to completely dry. If you live in a humid environment, this can take at least an hour, so make sure you have allotted enough time for your curlers to dry.  

Step 9: If you've used hot rollers, cool your hair first before undoing them. Hot rollers begin with dry hair but instead of allowing your hair to dry, you should be certain that it is cooled off.  

Step 10: Use a light hairspray or set it with gel. Before removing the roller from your hair, spray it with a gel that will make the curls last longer.  

Step 11: Undo the curlers. Gently remove the curlers from your hair. Work from the lowest portion to the top.  

Step 12: Run your fingers through your hair to comb. In order to avoid losing the curls, you will need to spend as little time as possible brushing your hair after removal of the curlers. Pull your fingers through your hair until you have the look you want, and then spray the hair so that it holds.  

Step 13: When using curling irons, make certain that your locks are dry, and only do a small portion of hair at a time. Whichever method you use, curling hair is not a quick process. If you are getting ready for a special occasion, have a try once or twice beforehand to get the size of the curl and style that you prefer.   So, you are now familiar with the basic steps to take in order to achieve the big, bouncy curls you desire!

When you get pink eye, do you throw away ALL your eye makeup? mascara and eye shadows?

I am getting over pink eye and dont want to throw away my mac eye shadows.... I'm throwing away my eyelash curler and mascara and will buy new ones... but the eye shadow, can I just wipe off the top layer and it will be fine? I dont know how the pink eye bacteria can live under the top layer?

replace your eyelash curler sponge tip or plastic (whatever it is), your mascara and everyday eyeliner ...

with your shadows, my doctor said it was ok to grab a kleenex tissue and clean a layer off (kind of like swiping your shadow 2 times) to get rid of any kind of bacteria.

don't share your eyeliner, mascara and eyelash curler with anyone because you can catch pink eye again or you can pass it to someone else
