Coverage Concealer Brush

I've written a lot on the subject of mens cosmetics, but for most men, makeup is the subject that most threatens their masculinity. In the west, makeup is indelibly associated with attractive women, and has been so ingrained into our culture that when celebrities dare to go out without it, their picture is splashed all over the tabloids. I think the chances are though, if you're reading this article, you're the type of person who doesn't sit back and let society choose opinions for them.

Makeup on men is not only a perfectly acceptable thing, it's a good thing. Unless you want to go out looking like a woman (and quite a lot of men do!), the key to makeup is subtlety. So long as you apply makeup with subtlety in mind, 99.9% of men wont notice you have it on, and while a lot more women will notice it, it will almost always reflect favorably on you. Showing that you care about, and put thought into, your appearance is definitely a positive trait.

There are three key types of mens makeup - nail polish, eyeliners and concealer. Nail polish is a pretty easy sell, as a good number of men in many different subcultures can be seen out wearing it every night of the week. It's best to stick to masculine colours - charcoal and black are a good idea, red and pink are likely to attract unwanted attention from insecure men.

Eyeliner is a fantastic tool for making your eyes stand out, and as the eyes are the focal point of the face, it's pretty obvious why this is a good idea. Concealer is a useful backup for those who aren't too fastidious with their skincare regime - you can use it to cover up any unsightly blemishes, and it's also handy for disguising fine lines and wrinkles, but concealer is an easy one to get wrong, be sure not to plaster it all over your face!

mac studio sculpt foundation and concealer?

is the new mac studio sculpt foundation and the mac studio sculpt concealer any good? i want coverage because i have blemishes here and there and i use the mac studio fix fluid but it always comes out cakey and i heard this new foundation doesnt cake?..is this true?

I just started using the Studio Sculpt. I haven't worn MAC in years because my skin had gotten dry and it didn't look good anymore. I did pick up the Studio Sculpt foundation and concealer. LOVE IT! I read that a Studio Fix wearer felt as though the Studio Sculpt was sheer to medium coverage. I'd call it medium. It's absolutely buildable though. It's amazing. You can easily build it to a full coverage and it does not dry or cake at all. It's also water resistant!
The 187 brush is better for liquid, this is creamy, thicker, try the 190. Fingers work really, really well, I use the 194 for concealer. The concealer is full coverage, similar coverage to the Studio Finish but softer and creamier, not drying at all-it's nice.
As far as powder... I personally use the Mineralize SkinFinish Natural, but that is more of a dewy, natural look rather than what you may be used to if you've been using the Studio Fix. If you try a more matte powder and that's too cakey, try the Fix+ to buff away the powdery look. Know that it is a little moisturizing and great for dry skin, if you are using it to conceal acne you may have oily skin as well, it may not be what you're looking for. Ask your MAC MA for a sample to take home. It's worth a try.
