Cosmetic Eye Shadow

Since the Egyptians and probably before, women have tried to make themselves as beautiful and mysterious as possible. One of the ways that this is accomplished is with eye shadow. Eye shadow comes in creams and powders, in subtle shades and in eye-popping colors. What type of this are used depends upon the woman and the occasion.

Cream eye shadows are formulated to be crease-resistant, and the older we get, the more important that feature becomes. Many people will use two or even three colors of it and shade them to get a dramatic look, a deep, mysterious look, or a more complex, interesting look. Combining cream and powder eye shadows can give a wide variety of shading. The color range for these products depends upon the manufacturer. There are a variety of shades of charcoals, greens, pinks, oranges, peaches, blues and teals.

Powdered eye shadows can give glitter and glaze, shimmer and shine to your eyelids. They can also subtly blend in with your makeup base to give your eyes a hint of depth, lending an air of inscrutability. Powdered ones come in most of the same colors as the cream shadows so it is easy to combine the two.

To get the most out of it, blend, blend, blend. As a general rule, put the lightest color on from the base of the eyelashes to the brow line. The medium color will go on the entire eyelid. The darkest color will begin at the center of the eyelid and get brushed or creamed out to the outer eyelid. Then get a brush and blend the three colors. This is just the basic use of this cosmetic product. Variations on this theme, including eye liner, darkening the crease of the eye, and glitter can add variety to your basic look. Choosing different colors to complement your eyes or your outfits will change your look to match your mood, the time of day, or the type of occasion.
