One of the most popular fitness machines in the world for many years now is the Ab Roller. This product comes from many brands and has all sorts of shapes and forms. Basically, it is a piece of equipment that allows you to rest your head on a special cushion (which is usually springy rather than soft) while you're doing stomach crunches, whether straight or for the obliques.

This cushion helps to support your neck while you're doing your workouts and so helps to alleviate neck pains, one of the more common problems people have when they do stomach workouts.

Naturally, it is possible to avoid neck strain without the Ab Roller by just keeping your eyes looking firmly at the ceiling but this can be difficult, which is why so many people love the Ab Roller.

What I like about the Ab Roller and how it's sold is that the promotion for this product is devoid of empty promises. While so many fitness machines promise the world when it's clear that they can only deliver very little, the promotions of the Ab Roller are usually straight to the point: this machine helps you do targeted stomach exercises without straining your neck. That's it, no promises of rapid abdominal fat loss and so on.

For that reason, I believe that the Ab Roller does work. It does what it's supposed to do, no less and no more.

The disappointment some people feel about it stems from their own inflated expectations. The truth about the Ab Roller is that it's just a fitness machine. It can't work wonders, it can't melt away the fat, it can't be the only thing you do to get flat abs. It helps you keep your neck straight while you're doing targeted workouts. No more.

I don't use the Ab Roller myself, but I know a lot of people who do. As long as you don't expect the world, you will not be disappointed. As long as you don't believe that by just doing crunches that you'll have six packs abs like some model on TV, you'll be alright. As long as you don't expect lightning fast results, you can continue working out and eating right to see gradual results.

If you keep your eyes and heart on your goals and realize that it will take some time to achieve, you can get flat abs, and this machine might help. Just as long as you know what it can and cannot do.
