Only mentioning zits and pimples teens and adults all together are equally disgusted and overwhelmed with bad memories.

They always appear at the wrong moment: when you have a date, just before the prom night, moments from your on stage performance! This skin condition strikes with no mercy anyone from celebrities to a regular teenager. Instead of panicking you should just do something about it!

There are a bunch of reasons why zits pop out of nowhere. The main cause accepted by all specialist is the skin pores being blocked by sebum causing an inflammation that results in acne.

Other factors admitted as acne causes are: diet habits, stress, hormonal activity, bacteria, vitamin deficiency, and combinations of any of these. There are lots of solutions to help you fight acne but no one beats keeping your skin pores clean!

So, why do you need to keep your skin clean? Often overlooked as an important organ, the skin which is the largest human organ is the first layer of defense against various potentially dangerous elements. The skin, specifically your facial skin is the very first thing somebody seen when looking at you! So it is really important to keep it clean, soft, acne free.

The best skin regimen has only three easy steps. Maintaining a great looking, healthy skin means following this regimen once or even twice daily. Here are the steps:

- cleansing

- rinsing

- moisturizing

It looks easy indeed but the key is diligence. You have to discipline yourself into following this regimen. Daily!

Ideally right after you wake-up and right before you go to sleep.

Proper Cleansing Step-by-step guide

Step One: Remove make-up before washing your face

Gently use make-up remover on cotton balls to allow water to reach the entire skin surface. Any oil based make-up will repel water and will reduce the efficiency of any skin cleanser.

Step two: Only wash your face with room-temperature water

Avoid using extremely cold or extremely hot water when washing your face. Extreme temperature break capillaries, lead to skin dehydration and aggravate pimples. The cleansers will also be more effective when used with water of the right temperature.

Step three: Use a gentle anti-acne cleanser (100% natural is preferable) fit for your skin type

For a sensitive skin you would use a mild cleanser. For a dry skin something stronger is more appropriate. If you don't know your skin type is best to see a dermatologist.

Step four: Apply a thin layer of cleanser on your face

Take a drop of cleanser in your wet palm and lather it then apply it on your face. Diluting the cleanser before the use it's a good idea since water activates the ingredients. Also, the cleansers come in a concentrated form and if applied in large amounts can dry out the skin.

Most people believe that scrubbing the face will help them clean it better. Nothing more wrong than that! By scrubbing hard you risk to break capillaries or aggravate an existing skin condition. Instead using cleanser with microbeads will do the proper skin scrubbing for you. Then you can massage your face gently in circular motion. This will improve the blood flow in your skin.

Step five: Rinse and pat dry your face

Use room-temperature water to rinse your face. Make sure you covered all area you used cleanser on. Failing to do so it may result in residues that can block you skins pores and aggravates acne. Dry your face with a clean soft towel. Never rub the towel but instead just pet dry your face.

You know now the proper cleansing routine so acne will be slowly but surely forgotten.

What are the best facial cleaners & lotions for really sensitive skin?

I've been using Cetaphil for nearly 7 years because it is the only cleanser that doesn't irritate my breakouts. However, I wear makeup everyday and Cetaphil does not remove makeup well. For removing makeup, I've been using Clean & Clear for sensitive skin but it's really drying me out, so I've been following up with their oil-free lotion but that just leaves my face feeling greasy.

I'm just looking for recommendations for sensitive skin products from actual users who can leave some positive feedback and maybe even a few tips. I'd prefer deep cleansing for makeup removal, also oil & menthol-free products. Thanks for any help!

Cetaphil is great, but I got a prescription from my dermatologist for a facial cleanser called Clenia. It's great for removing makeup, a deep clean but made for sensitive skin with no overdrying. It cost the same as over the counter face wash, I just had to get the doctor to call in the prescription. It's been excellent.
