Yes! It is true. Now you yourself can color your dream home in your way. It is too easy. You will wonder how it is possible without hiring a professional painter. And the answer is Paint Rollers. The handy, flexible and inexpensive paint rollers can do the great job for you.

Earlier, paint brushes were the only options which were costlier and also their brushes tend to get loose with successive usage. But with the paint rollers available in the market in various shapes and sizes, one can easily select the best one for his purpose. They are also less expensive than the paint brushes. In market, you can now find them without those small corners which prevent them from getting into the corners of the walls and one has to use brush to paint the corners.

Generally, paint rollers are supposed to be ideal for painting comparatively larger surface areas as they cover more area per strokes unlike brushes. Also, they are available in various qualities of foams which retain their original shape once they are squeezed. The quality of foams make them costlier but it is suggested not to go by cheaper quality paint rollers as they can spoil the beauty of your paint and that will hit hard on your pocket. So better go for spending few extra bucks when it comes to paint your dream home.

Paint rollers have some advantages over paint brushes which are making them more popular. Like:

o They are less expensive.

o They last longer than paint brushes i.e. more durable.

o They leave no brush strokes like paint brushes after they dry up.

o They come with a handy, flexible and easy to make grip handle.

o They cover more surface area than paint brushes.

o They are easily disposable and thus make your job tidier.

o They are not easily deformed as they retain their original shape as soon as paints are squeezed out of them.

There is a bit of a conflict between low shedding and not needing professional grooming services, yes, so you will have to make a decision there. Many of the breeds that people immediately think of as low shedding, like Bichons, Poodles, etc., will need regular professional grooming or stripping to prevent matts from forming.

Shedding is manageable for most people, however, if they brush the dog daily (outside if you can) and break out the vacuum cleaner several days a week. Short coated dogs do shed, but it's pretty manageable with the steps described above.

Dogs with heavy undercoats tend to be very heavy shedders--often called double coated breeds. You'd want to avoid those breeds.

I think you may do better with an adult dog than with a puppy if you are looking for a dog that is not going to be really, really energetic. If you're OK with constant supervision and extra exercise for that first year or two, then a puppy would be OK.

If you are hoping to meet most of the dog's exercise needs in the house and yard, you probably are looking at a smaller dog.

Maybe consider the Bulldog, French Bulldog, Bassett Hound, Boston Terrier. All have pretty minimal professional grooming requirements, aren't particularly heavy shedders, and don't need a great deal of exercise beyond the house and yard.

If you decide that you're OK with having professional grooming done, there are a lot of additional possibilities.

ETA: Beea is right about that--retired Greyhounds are clingy couch potatos indoors from what I've seen! But they definitely appreciate a good run every day. If you have a large fenced yard or can take them to a large fenced area, you don't have to run along with them.

English Setters (bench, not field) are also surprisingly willing to accommodate to a coach potato lifestyle. They don't shed as much as you'd think with that long coat. If you brush it out thoroughly every day, you don't need much help from the professionals, To keep them in showing condition, you'd need to learn how to use a clipper and do some trimming, but for a pet that's not necessary. Just a lot of brushing and learning how to contend with matts. I grew up with them and they loved to just lay at your feet or with their head in your lap. They often do really well with a daily walk and a chance to run hard a few times a week, but the field setters may get a bit of cabin fever on that schedule.
