Blending Shadow

Tis' the season to break out some sassy, sexy, playful and beautiful holiday makeup tips. Throughout the holidays there are going to be special events where you will want to finish your look with special makeup moods and muse.

Timing:

The time at which an event takes place often changes the makeup we wear. With holiday festivals, however, you can stick with evening makeup tips no matter the time of day.

Celebratory Colors

The theme of your holiday celebration is one place to begin looking for makeup inspiration. For example, Thanksgiving hues include gold, bronze, orange, and yellow - all common to Autumn, and all stunning colors to wear for eye shadow. Gold and bronze are both very glamorous, warm and inviting, and they make you look very alluring in candlelight. One easy way to add these metallics into your makeup is by buying a base with the shade that works best with your skin, then mixing that with your normal foundation.

When Christmas rolls around red is definitely the star of the show, as is anything with shimmer and glitter. For facial makeup you can pick up red in your rouge and lipstick. Otherwise pull out some festive nail polish! Fine glitter can adorn your hair, which is where it's safest. A glittery eye can look very appealing but make sure to use a finishing product so it doesn't flake into your eyes.

Holiday Romance

If you're planning some intimate moments over the holidays, think about dark eyes using charcoal or grey. To this you can add a purple mascara (it's dark enough to appear black until you get up close - and then your eyes POP).

With dusky, smoky eyes you don't want to overdo the rest of your face, by the way. Keep your blush light and fresh, and consider wearing a clear flavored lip gloss so you're ready to be kissed under the mistletoe any time!

Don't Forget Your Skin!

Before you're too busy to enjoy a few minutes of self indulgence, consider having a professional facial or giving yourself one. The winter months are hard on the skin, and this is an excellent time to nourish those cells so they look young and healthy. Makeup can only do so much. If you start with well-treated skin, the end look you'll achieve is always more stunning.

Other Holiday Makeup Tips:

Generally speaking your makeup during the holidays can get as fanciful as your clothing. Pick up the colors from your dress or jewelry somewhere in your face to tie everything together. Additionally:

• With dramatic makeup blending is doubly important. Watch for any harsh lines and work them in
• Use a good foundation or primer so that you don't have to fuss every hour in the lady's room
• Shimmer is "in" but keep it away from wrinkles
• In lieu of traditional foundation, try tinted moisturizer
• Choose which feature, your eyes or your mouth, to show off (you shouldn't do both - it always looks overdone)
• Finally don't forget your hair and accessories. Makeup is a great helpmate but for any "look" to work, the details always matter.

What is a really good eye shadow coulor for browish greenish eyes?

I can never find a good coulor for my eye shadow its either really dark or deson't blend right so can someone help me out and tell me a good coulr i usealy where purple eyeliner and black mascara with a rosey coulor of blush and im not a really big girly girl i have dark brown hair if you can help plz do thx

I would suggest going to a MAC counter & getting matched up. They have wonderful eye makeup! I have blue eyes, & they made them stand out.
Personally I think a metallic brown or purple smokey eye would be gorgeous on you! I would stick to a black eyeliner though, & the black mascara.
I recommend these products (Use them myself):
Eyeliner-
Lancome waterproof eyeliner in black. or MAC's Technakohl Eyeliner. (This stuff really glides on easily!)

Eye base/ primer-
Clinique Quick Eyes cream shadow. ( I have this in Starlit Pink, you may prefer a more nertual tone.)
Or MAC's "Bare Study Paint Pot" (This is a shimmery light metallic base for your eyes)

Eyeshadow:
My favorite is MAC's Satin Taupe. This is a shimmery metallic dark brown that makes eyes pop! Like I said before MAC has a huge variety of eye shadows.

Mascara:
Cinique's High Impact in black is my favorite!
I have tried a bunch of different brands & kinds and always come back to this one. This will really define your eyelashes, if your looking for a more sutble look I would recommend Cinique's Long Pretty Lashes, also a favorite of mine.
