Anyone with the right information can be good at goat keeping and raising goats for fun or profit.

Keeping goats is never a tedious task because goats are unique and are never boring. They have charming personalities and are easy to raise if common sense is used when working them.

Sheep and goats are entirely different animal species, with entirely different characteristics, nutritional requirements and environmental needs.

Be sure to pay attention to the feed labels to make sure your goats are not getting the wrong feed by accident.

Raw grain cannot be digested by wethers and bucks. Remember it can make them sick or even kill them. If you are just beginning goat farming, consult with a veterinarian about your bucks needs to keep them healthy. He can recommend the proper supplements,feed and amounts for your goat.

Give your goat dry oatmeal in small quantities to supplement their feed. Goats will eat any kind of branches and leaves close enough to get to. They love treats, just like a child or a dog. Go easy on the treats as too much can do more harm than good to your goat.

Fresh hay is one of the best feeds you can give your goat. Green feed always has more nutrition than brown feed.

Keep your goats water clean and lots of it. Keeping their water clear of ice during cold weather is a plus.

It is a good idea to have mineral blocks scattered around for easy access. Don't forget the salt. Keep a salt block available for their use.

A well balanced grain supplement should be on hand for the does when they are expecting kids. It is for their good and the kids good to keep them fed with healthy feed.

Your goats condition can tell you how much you need to supplement their feed with grain for optimal health. Same way with supplementing lactating does with more protein, since this is important in their milk for young kids.

To prevent hoof rot, keep their feet trimmed every few weeks.

For maximum health, keep your goats vaccinated yearly for tetanus and other vaccines.

Watch for slow moving goats during feeding. It may mean you have a sick goat.

Dull, thin or course hair could indicate the animal has some intestinal parasites or possibly a bad nutritional diet.

Finally, look for signs of legs bowing (back or inward), since this can indicate a nutrient deficiency.

What kind of goat milk do I use to get rid of black heads?

Okay, I've heard that if you put goat milk on your face it makes the blackheads go away. Well I don't know what kind of goat milk and also where to get it. Please help!

Male Pygmy goat milk is the best I've seen for blackheads, and the ramdom zit.
It's very hard to get the goat to let you milk him, but this is the best way because it's only availiable in few stores.

The milk is very thick, smooth, and creamy. It needs to be applied at least twice daily.
