Dell, with the number three spot in computer sales in 2009, is well known internationally for its laptop and other computers. While their computers are not without problems, it is one of the most famous manufacturers of top quality computers. What sets them apart for many is their pioneering in a manufacturing process that allows customers to specify exactly what they want and customize their computers. This is very useful when purchasing a laptop.
For those who like computers built to their specifications, desktop PCs offer a relatively easy solution. The modular design of modern PCs allows users to select the components they want and build them with relative ease. Their size also makes the components easy to access and change when necessary.
This is not true with laptops. Since they must be made smaller, the components are miniaturized as much as possible and packed together with little space between them. This makes them much harder to work on. For example, while a hard drive is easy to access on a desktop PC and most any drive will work for most any computer, accessing a hard drive on a laptop PC may require removing various components and then the drives it can be replaced with will be limited.
This makes the "configure to order" way of manufacturing computers that Dell pioneered and still excels at so attractive for those who want a more customized PC. Building a laptop PC is simply impractical for all but the most experienced users. With Dell offering the most customization options (consumers have various options to select what they want when ordering), they are usually the best bet for those whom are particular with what they want in their PCs.
Their system of primarily selling directly online to consumers also helps keep Dell computers very affordable. Consumers on a limited budget can further reduce costs by going for lower specifications when customizing their PCs in the ordering process.
Dell computers are not without their problems though. A search online will quickly produce lots of results from dissatisfied customers too. One complaint is that they refurbish their parts, and this sometimes leads to unreliable computers. Furthermore, many of their parts are non-standard. This means that one often cannot just go to a local computer store to replace a simple part like a power supply. Instead, it must be ordered again from Dell. There are also problems with outsourced technical support that often does not meet the customer's needs and other issues.
On the other hand, Dell has a long history (as far as computers go anyway), experience, an extensive line of good computers, and a lot of customers that are very happy with their machines. While they are not for everyone, they are often the best choice for those who want a more customized laptop.

This is a How to for gorgeous green eyeshadow. While the thought of green eye shadow can be scary for most, when done the right way it's sure to be a show-stopping look. Warning! This look is bold, but can be just as pretty with a more everyday watered down version.
No eye look will look good with bushy, unmanageable eye brows, so start with plucking or waxing your eyebrows. If plucking, you will want to first open pores by placing a warm, moist towel on eye brows for about five seconds each. If waxing you may want to take two aspirin to relieve the pain about fifteen minutes beforehand. Then, apply a light coat of primer or foundation. I used two different coordinating green eye shadows: Radiant and Verdigris by Ulta.
First, using a brush apply the lighter shade on your entire eyelid, up to where it would naturally crease. Then on top of the first shade follow the crease and apply the darker green. Next, use the lighter green again to blend the eyeshadow outwards toward your your brow.
Finally, dab the lighter green in the inner corners of your eyes for some highlight and finish of with a healthy black coat of mascara (I use Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara) on your top and bottom lashes.
Tips: With a look this bold, you want to keep the rest of your make up toned down and natural-looking. I suggest skipping the blush and going with a nude, matte lip to make this look really stand out. Enjoy!

It's time to apply mineral foundation makeup. How do you do it? It's pretty much the same as how you would apply any makeup.
First, you need to prepare your skin. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, use a bit of toner, and apply a moisturizer. Allow this moisturizer to be completely absorbed (usually about ten minutes).
Next, apply a pore minimizer, primer or a concealer. This polishes the surface of your skin.
Then, apply the mineral foundation makeup. Use either a powder brush, or a sponge, depending on how much facial coverage you need.
Dip the applicator - either the brush or sponge, into the foundation. Tap the excess off on the edge of the container. (If you like, pour just a bit of the powder into a separate container - perhaps a jar cap, so that you won't use too much.)
Begin at the outside edge of your face and work inward, using a circular motion to apply the foundation - using one layer of a time. Should you apply too much, simply wipe off the excessive with a tissue.
It does take time to learn how to apply the makeup properly. Depending on how you apply it, the look can be totally different. You're not really "dusting" your skin with the powder, but actually "buffing" it - which helps it adhere to the oil in your skin. The more you buff, the heavier the layer of makeup. It will take practice to learn the proper technique.
Finally, apply a setting powder. You will definitely notice the difference in a few hours if you do not use a setter. Mineral Veil, by bareMinerals, is a popular such setter, which you can use with any mineral foundation makeup.

What is a good concealer brush?
I'd like a brush for concealer that I can use mainly for spot concealing and for redness around my nose, and maybe for my eyes, although some I have seen look too small to be good for under the eyes! Any good suggestions on reasonably priced brushes that can be good for bigger and smaller areas? I want to try the Urban Decay and Stila brushes.. I live in Canada as well, so anything that's at Sephora, MAC or any canadian stores would be great. Thanks!
The Laura Mercier Concealer brush is awesome and is great for precise and detailed concealing. LOVE it!! U look less makeup-y that way. Make sure you set your concealer with a very fine translucent powder like the HD powder by Makeup forever so that your concealer says on all day. Any liquid or cream pretty much needs to be set with powder for it not to fade or transfer during the day and the least powdery-looking is HD powder. Both you can get at sephora. By the way- use a foundation brush for larger areas. Sephora's platinum brush collection is good for a foundation brush. You'll get better looking coverage for the small area using a small-tip concealer brush like the Laura mercier one. She also has the best makeup sponges and smokey eye brush) which I use for making a little cat-eye to give my eye a lift at the ends without looking too crazy drawn on. Good luck

Are fat people really this clueless?
Yes, I am going to pick on overweight and obese people, please feel free to defend yourselves because I am so curious. When ever I go to the grocery store and compare the people to the foods in their carts, it is always the same. Fat people have hot pockets, cookies, cocoa puffs, chips and dip, and maybe a can of vegetables. Healthy sized people have fresh food: fruits, vegetables, stuff with fiber. Yet fat people complain all the time that they do not understand why they are fat. How can this be? Just look at the food you eat, isn't it obvious? Have other people noticed this while food shopping? I understand that some people are just naturally larger, but I have only once or twice seen a fat person with a cart full of healthy food. Explain yourselves because I am sick of people with otherwise healthy bodies abusing themselves.
I'm sorry I disagree with your basic premise. When I go shopping I see crappy food in everyone's cart. I see people stuffing their toddlers at McDonald's. It's amazing how junky people can eat and still be skinny. But it does catch up in the form of overweight eventually or heart conditions or diabetes. It's kind of the human condition to take the easy way out and the easy way out is to buy prepackaged sugar laden foods.

The time at which an event takes place often changes the makeup we wear. With holiday festivals, however, you can stick with evening makeup tips no matter the time of day.
Celebratory Colors
The theme of your holiday celebration is one place to begin looking for makeup inspiration. For example, Thanksgiving hues include gold, bronze, orange, and yellow - all common to Autumn, and all stunning colors to wear for eye shadow. Gold and bronze are both very glamorous, warm and inviting, and they make you look very alluring in candlelight. One easy way to add these metallics into your makeup is by buying a base with the shade that works best with your skin, then mixing that with your normal foundation.
When Christmas rolls around red is definitely the star of the show, as is anything with shimmer and glitter. For facial makeup you can pick up red in your rouge and lipstick. Otherwise pull out some festive nail polish! Fine glitter can adorn your hair, which is where it's safest. I would suggest going to a MAC counter & getting matched up. They have wonderful eye makeup! I have blue eyes, & they made them stand out.
Personally I think a metallic brown or purple smokey eye would be gorgeous on you! I would stick to a black eyeliner though, & the black mascara.

Eyeliner-
Lancome waterproof eyeliner in black. or MAC's Technakohl Eyeliner. (This stuff really glides on easily!)
Eye base/ primer-
Clinique Quick Eyes cream shadow. ( I have this in Starlit Pink, you may prefer a more nertual tone.)
Or MAC's "Bare Study Paint Pot" (This is a shimmery light metallic base for your eyes)
Eyeshadow:
My favorite is MAC's Satin Taupe. This is a shimmery metallic dark brown that makes eyes pop! Like I said before MAC has a huge variety of eye shadows.
Mascara:
Cinique's High Impact in black is my favorite!
I have tried a bunch of different brands & kinds and always come back to this one. This will really define your eyelashes, if your looking for a more sutble look I would recommend Cinique's Long Pretty Lashes, also a favorite of mine.

If you find yourself wondering where all the clutter comes from, try these easy tips to keep it under control.
1. Get Rid of What You Don't Need
Donate it, sell it, auction it on eBay or have a yard-sale - just get it out of your home. I prefer to donate to charity or to friends, this seems to me a better mindset than holding on to it in the hope I might earn back a few dollars. Besides, my approach gets it out quickly!
'But I might need that again one day', I hear you cry. Now let's get realistic. Take my example - I had been holding onto my pure wool beanie for ever, reasoning I bought it for a school snow trip, so I'd better keep it. Guess what? The school snow trip was in 1986. I've been to the snow oh say three times since then, none of them this decade. Once I realized I could buy and sell (on eBay for example) what I needed WHEN I needed it, I didn't need to clutch onto all my possessions quite so tightly.
Another example? When I realized I hadn't worn my wet suit in over 10 years..
2. FIFO - First In, First Out
Use this tip in your pantry and refrigerator. Freshest to the rear, oldest produce to the front. This eliminates the old items turning into a science experiment.
This method could also be used for magazine collections and newspapers that tend to accumulate - of course only use this tip if you plan on reading them - otherwise throw them out at once.
Alternatively, take a pile of magazines with you for donation every time you or a family member has a dentist or doctor appointment - the other clients will appreciate fresh reading material.
3. Paper Tiger
Put your papers in one spot only. A room, a box, a laundry basket. Attack this pile for five minutes a day (I do mine when the computer is loading). Keep a shredder nearby. You could even use the shredded paper as kitty litter, or mulch on your garden beds.
4. No Double Handling
I mainly use this to deal with mail and junk-mail. First you open it, then you deal with it. For me, this means junk-mail goes straight into the recycling trash. No looking equals no temptation to bring more clutter into my home.
Bills go immediately into a plastic pocket marked only for bills. Other mail once opened may need to be stuck on the 'fridge as a reminder - only temporarily. Mark any important dates/events on your calender, then file the item away (yet another plastic pocket for me).
Personal letters go in your study or the place you keep such items. This place should already be stocked with stamps, envelopes and the like. If not, go and stock this area now.
5. Do Not Leave a Room Empty-Handed
Whenever you leave a room to enter another, grab something that is out of place, and put it away. This alone can save a lot of 'tidying up', as you haven't really gone out of your way, and yet you have managed to declutter your home that little bit more.

It begins with the illusion of bigger eyes. Cosmetic tricks and fuller lashes make your eyes "pop." Just follow the easy steps below.
Eye shadow and eye liner
- Start with the foundation and build. Apply a light colored eye shadow to upper lids and blend gently. You can substitute a small amount of liquid foundation for this step.
- Choose a neutral eye shadow color... brown or grey are recommended. Begin in the middle of the eyelid. Apply evenly, extending to the outer eye lid. Use a small amount. Add additional shadow in layers as needed.
- Finish with a darker shade of eyeliner applied to the upper lid. Add a little dark color to the outer edge, underneath the eye, if you'd like. Apply the color and smudge with your fingertip to blend.
Small, closely set eyes?
- To open the eye area, dab a bit of white shadow to the inner corners of the lid. This creates the illusion that the eyes are wider apart. Avoid dark shadow or eyeliner on the inner lid. This will make eyes appear even smaller.
Eyes far apart?
- You need to create an illusion that is the reverse of the above. The first step is the same... apply light shadow to the entire lid. Next, apply a medium colored shadow to the inner corner and extend to the outer corner of your lid. Follow with eyeliner across the entire lid.
The allure of the curl...
- Use an eyelash curler to flatter your lashes. Don't be intimidated by the little contraption - it's simple to use. First, make sure lashes are clean... no leftover mascara! Then place upper lashes between the clamps and squeeze. Hold in place for 15-30 seconds. Voila... curly, sexy, lashes!
