It has been said that eyebrows "frame" the face. However, just as the wrong picture frame can detract from a beautiful painting, eyebrows that are shaped incorrectly, or are too thick or thin, can detract from your beautiful features. So how do you determine a good shape for your brows, one that will compliment your features? Should they have a defined, almost pointy arch? Or should they be softly rounded? Should they have a high arch, or almost no arch at all?
The first step in brow shape and design, is to determine the natural shape of your face. Pull your hair back so that you can see whether your face is more round, square, oval, heart-shaped, inverted pyramid, etc. According to respected makeup artists, there are 7 basic shapes, and most of us will fall into one of them. A simple rule to remember is that you never want to repeat a negative. So if you tend to have a very round face, you would not want to have brows that were very rounded. An arch that is higher and more angular will draw away from an extremely round face. However if you have fairly harsh and square features, a rounded brow will soften those features. Again, never repeat a negative.
Do you have a high forehead that you have always tried to conceal with bangs? Do not shape your brows with a high and pointed arch because this will only emphasize the highness of your forehead. A lower arch, or almost no arch at all, will make the forehead appear wider and "less tall." If you do have a slight arch, make sure it is placed towards the outer third of the brow. Again, this will widen the face and make the forehead look more in balance.
But suppose you have a feature that you want to accentuate, such as high cheek bones? Brows that are more angular will emphasize your high cheek bones. Placing the arch to the outer third of the brow will also help accentuate high cheek bones. Make sure you do not bring the tail of the brow down too low. This is a common mistake done when shaping eyebrows, and will close the eyes in and draw away from the high cheek bones that you are attempting to emphasize.
How thick or thin should your eyebrows be? Another simple rule to remember is that overall feature size should be considered. For example, If you have very full lips, then thicker and more dramatic brows are in order. Large features require thicker eyebrows to be in balance, whereas a small petite face with thin lips, small nose, etc., requires thin and less dramatic eyebrows.
Perhaps by now you have determined a shape, and whether you want your brows to be thick or thin. Where should the eyebrow begin and where should it end? Accepted makeup principles state that you should take a ruler or other straight object such as a pencil, and place it from the outside of your nose, straight up to the inside corder of your eye, and start the brow at the point where this line begins above the nose. Bringing the brows in closer than this can make you appear as if you are frowning. In most cases, this is where the brow should start. When needing corrective makeup, the brows can be brought in slightly closer if you have an extremely wide bridge. However again, overall feature size must be considered, because if you have a very wide nose or wide mouth, bringing the brows in closer can throw the whole face off balance.
Where should the eyebrow end? Again, take a ruler and place it at the outside of the nose and straight to the outside corner of the eye. Following this line above will show you where it should end. Again, don't draw the brows too low and "hook" them, as this will close in the eyes and make you appear older. Keeping the brows up high and out will take years off your face!
What if you do not have sufficient hair to shape your brows, or the hair is all in the wrong places? An esthetician with experience in makeup can shape and wax your brows for you. Topically applied makeup can give you any shape desired. If mimicking this shape every day with traditional cosmetic makeup is too much work for you, permanent makeup will make your life easier. Having the perfect shape tattooed on permanently could be the answer for you. Just make sure to choose an experienced artist and have them draw the brows on first to obtain your approval as far as shape.
How do you determine the right color for your eyebrows? Skin tones as well as hair color should be considered. It is generally accepted that if traditional makeup is being used, a color the same as your brow hair, or 2 to 3 shades lighter, will be most aesthetically pleasing. As far as permanent makeup goes, the artist must consider the client's skin undertones when choosing the pigment color. Your natural skin color, plus the color of the pigment being implanted, will be the final result. This can be tricky, so again, make sure you consult an artist with a good portfolio and references from former clients.
The few tips noted above will help you design beautiful eyebrows that compliment and frame your face. If you still feel a bit intimidated about changing your eyebrows, do not be afraid to seek the advice of a professional.

MAC cosmetics brush question for those who know - 187 or 190?
I'm new to makeup. For a lot of reasons, I was never taught what to wear or how to wear it. I'm getting used to a few little things, but I've started to wear liquid foundation by MAC.
My question is, which brush would be easier for a beginner...the 187 or 190? I am currently using the 190, but still have a little trouble with a streaky look. Someone mentioned stippling instead of using a regular brush. Would this be a bit easier for a beginner?
Thanks!!
Really the 109 for liquid foundation?
I'm using liquid studio fix.
187 gives u an airbrushed look. just stiffle the foundation to your face
190 is better for beginner. you have to criss-cross your brush when applying foundation to avoid the streaking.
for beginner i always recommend my clients to use a sponge. =)

What is in a name? The name you choose for your guild a very important decision that you will make during the creation process.
Starting a guild is almost like having a baby. So it makes sense that choosing a name for a new guild can be a just as personal, emotional and ultimately difficult as naming a newborn.
One thing that you should remember is that there is power in words. Choose something that promotes power. You will find that a powerful name will attract prospective guild members much more easily.
Some suggestions would be names from history. These could be names of battles, places or things. Another suggestion would be words that represent large things.
In my experience in the MMORPG industry I have found that guilds with a single word name seem to recruit more successfully than those with longer names. If you do decide to choose a longer name make sure that it is something that sounds powerful. A very good way to look for names is to visit Thesarus.com and input a few powerful words and look at homonyms, synonyms, and antonyms. This can be a very helpful thing in the search for a good guild name
Some examples of guild names that have and promote power include Thermopylae, Monolith, Blades of Wrath, Afterlife, Legion, Guardians of the Flame, Covenant, Salvation, From the Ashes, Sunder, Fated, Vision, Leviathan, Authority, etc.
The naming process can be very frustrating. If you are starting this new guild with a group of friends perhaps you should all get together and toss some names around until you come up with something all of you can agree on. In most gaming systems a guild name is permanent unless you want to disband the guild and start over, so be sure when you make your final decision.

Hi. I'm looking at these brushes on Ebay and I'm not sure about the brand. If you look at the link below, you'll see the title says BN!. Is that some new brand I don't know about? If you look at the images on the page, the handles on the brushes say MAC. Could you guys help me out a little? Do you think they are MAC brushes?

They are definitely not MAC brushes. The best makeup brushes use sable hair and are extremely expensive. nylon makes a good, synthetic (non animal), inexpensive alternative.

Probably leopard prints do not claim to be called the most advanced trend, but they always appear on catwalks when we need to raise the degree of our sexuality and charm.
In a new season predatory prints are not only in famous designers' collections but even in collections of more puritanical brands. There are trenches and coats in Anna Sui, Cacharel, Kenzo, Oscar De La Renta, Tuleh, Prada, Carolina Herrera, Alessando Dell Acqua collections. They should be worn with tight black pants or leggings and accentuate your waist with a wide black belt.
Leopard print is dangerous - it is difficult to combine it the right way: to keep refinement and elegancy in your image without even a hint to vulgarity. Besides, such clothing certainly attracts attention, being in such clothing you must always look great and enjoy admiring glances of those around you.
The most practical and advantageous purchase is accessories with leopard prints - bags, shoes, scarves. Leopard boots with mink bobs combine a fashion coloring and a fashion model, as well as massive platform boots. There are very beautiful clutches in some designers' collections. Last season's favorites - bags - have changed their "clothing" and please us with jewelry spots.
In a new advertising campaign of Lois Vuitton together with Kate Moss leopard bags participate. In addition to it, there are remarkable dresses with stylized red-black prints in the collection.
Probably a leopard print has become so popular because of a women's desire to slacken their feministic principles and to live at least one season following Brigitte Bardot words: "God created a woman for men to hunt her"
A lot of famous actresses, singers, designers, celebrities wear leopard attires and accessories. One more great fashion idea is to buy replica watches with leopard prints.
Replica watches are high quality imitations of brands' watches but you don't have to overpay for the brand's name. Buying a replica watch you have an opportunity to look stylish and beautiful and always be on time.

Wool blankets can provide warmth and comfort for decades if you take proper care of them. It is a refreshing change in a world where people routinely trade in their car every 3 years, their PCs every other year and their clothes every season. Here are some tips for keeping your blankets in tiptop shape.
Most woolen products, blankets included, do not like to be washed in water or machine-washed. Washing in water will cause shrinkage. Shrinkage will cause the blanket to become more dense and stiff. It will lose shape and softness and you will soon be looking for another blanket. Should a blanket shrink you will not be able to re-stretch it without ruining the blanket. Having said this, there are some blankets that are treated with a chemical that will allow them to be water washed so it is advisable to read the washing instructions or clarify before you buy how the product should be cleaned.
Dry cleaning is the best way to clean a wool blanket. This mitigates the effects that water will have on the wool and leaves the blanket fresh and soft. You don't need to dry clean the blanket often, maybe two or three times a year. In between the dry cleaning a good shake or brushing off is adequate.
Wool is a popular source of nutrition for many insects. Moths are particularly fond of wool and care must be taken when storing wool blankets that moths and other insects do not come into contact with them. Some measures you could take to prevent moth damage are to ensure that the space where you store the blankets is moth proofed. Mothballs and crystals are ever popular. Place the balls into the space before you add the blankets. This will repel any moths that might be thinking of laying eggs in the area. Another alternative could be to seal your blankets in plastic but this is not always practical or cost effective. Place mothballs in with the blankets. Give them a dust off every 6 months if you are planning on string them for any length of time.
If moth larvae get at your blankets they will eat holes in the fabric. Provided the holes are not too big you could always add a patch into the blanket but it will never be as durable as before so prevent moths at all costs.
Over time, areas of the blanket will start to show signs of wear. Little bobbles of wool will form around the wearing areas. This is known as pilling. The fabric will become rougher than normal and the insulation qualities will be degraded. The bobble can be removed by applying a soft brush to the affected area.
Wool is a hardy, durable product that requires minimal care. By following the simple instructions you can be sure that your blankets will last for many years if not decades.

Which hairstyle is best for plus size women? Believe it or not, many plus size women ask this question. Are things really that different when it comes to hairstyles for plus size women? Well, yes and no.
Let's first take a look at what is common for hairstyle selection between plus size women and women in general.
A hairstyle should complement the shape of your face. Though everyone's face is basically oval, there are many deviations to the dimensions of the face that make it tend away from a purely oval shape. Below are the basic facial shapes and hairstyles that complement them.
Pear -- this facial shape has a wide chin and a narrow forehead. A hairstyle that widens the forehead while taking attention away from the chin is desirable. Hair should be fuller on top and swept away from the face to create the illusion of a fuller forehead. Avoid styles that are wider at the chin to soften a square jaw line.
Square -- a square brow and angular jaw line are the features of the square facial shape. Hair swept onto the face and covering the brow will soften sharp angles. Shorter lengths that extend just below the chin will further help to soften a square jaw.
Oval -- like the hourglass plus size body shape, an oval face works well with just about any style. Hair pulled back or worn up shows off an oval face the most. Long styles or shorter hair with some curls will also look flattering on an oval face.
Round -- the widest part of a round face is at the cheeks. Your goal should be to lengthen both the upper and lower portions of your face. Build some height on the top of your head while avoiding shorter, slicked back styles.
Heart Shaped -- this is a triangular facial shape, wider at the forehead with a narrow chin. Wear styles that widen your chin such as layered styles angled toward your face. Shorter lengths to the middle of your neck work best.
Plus size women with long hair look particularly elegant with their hair pinned up. This works extremely well for formal occasions when wearing a gown or evening dress. In general, shorter plus size women may want to consider shorter hairstyles to balance their torsos against their legs. A silk scarf or headband tied across the forehead and under the back of the hair can add an accent point to plus size hairstyles.
In the end, it comes down to complementing your natural features and expressing your individual style and personality with your clothing, accessories, and choice of a plus size hairstyle.
What do you think are classed as beautiful features of the face of a woman?
Hey all, just doing a small project at college and im wondering what others think of facial features.
So what do you think are beautiful face features. How about these few to get you started: Big eyes or small eyes, round nose, sharp nose or pointy nose, big/small nose, what about the lips; full lips, thin lips or top thin and big bottom lips? and what about the eyebrows, round or angled?
Thanks alot for your time!
almond shaped eyes, quite big and open. a small, sloped (not bumpy or curved outwards) with a small tipped end. not big full lips like angelina jolie, yuk! but not too small, medium sized rounded lips, like eva longoria... and eyebrows slightly angled with an arch in and wuite thin, not big snd bushy.

To those that use a stippler brush to apply liquid foundation?
Will this brush work? I asked once before with few responses. I also got another brush similiar from target for cheaper so I might take this one back. I don't want to spend alot on a brush this one was 31.00 and i already regret spending so much on it. Will this work well with my colorstay foundation? I do now want a normal foundation brush.

From all the Youtube videos I have been watching, a stippler is best. It will give you more of an airbrushed look.
I do NOT want a normal foundation brush like mentioned in my post (minus the typos) I know what a foundation brush looks like.
Yup, that brush can work with your Color Stay. Just make sure you use a tiny bit of foundation and build up to the coverage that you want. Good luck!

Every once in a while, we all have a decorating project where you want to light a display, wreath, or centerpiece but you just don't have access to an outlet. Or perhaps you need to answer the question - how can you decorate with mini lights without a lot of cords running across the table?
The simple and sparkling solution is to use battery operated Christmas lights. These handy lights aren't just for the holiday months though. They can be used for anniversary parties, proms, dinner parties, baby showers, birthday parties, bridal showers, and weddings, to name a few events.
Battery operated mini lights are the ideal decorating choice for all of your indoor holiday events. Buffet tables won't be just basic anymore. To truly dazzle your guests at your next dinner party, use groupings of these mini lights in and around the punch bowl. The light will cast a beautiful reflection against the glass, especially if the lights are dimmed. In order to lend dimension and interest to your holiday table, elevate Christmas centerpieces behind the food items. Add light by weaving battery operated mini lights into the foliage, hiding the battery pack inside the vase or container. The dessert table will look elegant when decorated with sets of battery operated mini lights.
Wreaths of all sizes are used in homes throughout the year simply beg to be decorated with clear mini lights. Multiple sets of battery operated lights are ideal for this application since the battery packs can be attached to the back of the wreath and out of sight.
You can use wreaths to adorn the walls of every room of the home. They're the perfect addition above the fireplace and can be changed out to match the seasons. The battery operated Christmas lights add a romantic bit of light to the room, as well. While you're at it, use a set of these mini lights along the mantel too for added ambient lighting. Don't forget to add battery operated lights to the Advent Wreath on the table or dining room sideboard during the Christmas season.
Do you have a fireplace but don't want to mess with burning real logs? If you don't have an outlet handy, use sets of battery operated mini lights nestled in and around artificial logs to add a warm glow to your sitting room, den, living area, or bedroom.
Large mirrors are the perfect backdrops for sparkling mini lights. If you have a place behind the mirror where the battery pack could easily be hidden, try outlining your hall mirror or bedroom mirror with battery operated Christmas lights to dress them up for parties and special occasions. It's a sweet way to bring a romantic touch into the bedroom. Your hallway will appear warm and inviting to your family and guests who visit.
I'm sure you've seen people carry interesting things on their heads or on their hats. Why not add some battery operated mini lights to your hat for the parade on the 4th of July? To All Cancers: What would you like for you birthday?
My bestfriend is a Cancer and she is turning 20 on June 24 and I want to do something special for her. I can spend up to 50 dollars(on her alone). She is going through a depressing time right now because of family issues and I want to cheer her up. I was thinking of buying some balloons that say happy birthday and tieing them to her car mirrors and writing happy birthday on a big poster and putting it on her windshield. Then taking her out to lunch. What do you guys think? What would you want to be done for your bdays?
Haha.I'm sure she would. She comes from a religious family and her mother would freak if she did. I don't want the family thinking I'm a bad influence
friends become harder and harder to come by as years pass so i would just spend the day with them. then maybe figuring out along the way so it will be a happy surprise for both of you.
