What is the secret behind the flawless, seamless, makeup look of celebrities? Its not that they all have great skin and just shine naturally, but it is also not something that is out of reach of everyday folks either. If you asked them, they (may or may not) tell you that their makeup artist has an airbrush makeup machine. The time when this technology is only available exclusively with makeup artists and celebrities is over. These days with a home edition of airbrush makeup machine you can have a professionally done look in a jiffy, daily without the help of a makeup professional.
Airbrush makeup machines are not so expensive and will be an asset to add to your makeup box. It will achieve for you the celebrities' seamless, flawless look. In what way does the airbrush makeup machine operate? It works with a small but powerful air compressor that pushes air into the foundation through an applicator that sprays the makeup onto your face in an easily layered coverage that kisses your skin in gentle jets of air. The smooth layering that is possible with a machine gives you the option to have little or more makeup coverage for problem areas of your face like scars, acne, birthmarks, rosacea, or dark circles around your eyes, without having to cake on makeup.
The best part is that your affordable and compact airbrush makeup machine can be carried with you anywhere and you can have your flawless look in a short while wherever you are. It will give you long-lasting makeup that will not settle down to look heavy; you may look like you are not wearing makeup! Airbrush makeup can be applied light enough to allow natural features of your skin like freckles to show through, giving you a makeup-free natural look.

Simple and sophisticated silver and purple eyeshadow look. Gorgeous enough for a night out, but simple enough for school or work. These step by step instructions will guide you through this look...
1. Apply an eyeshadow base all over your eyelid
2. Apply a pale silver glittery eyeshadow all over your eyelid. Try to concentrate most of the color in the inner corner, but continue to move the color toward the outer corner of your eyelid.
3. Take a darker shade of silver, and apply it to the outer 2/3 of your eyelid.
4. Blend the two different shades of silver together so there are no harsh lines
5. Apply purple eyeshadow into your crease.
6. Blend your crease color using back and forth windshield wiper motions
7. Use a pencil eyeliner and draw along the base of your eye lashes
8. Apply a shimmery highlight color to your brow bone and blend it out
9. Apply a shimmery white eyeshadow color and apply it right under the arch of your eyebrow and blend it in
10. Apply the purple eyeshadow on the inner 1/2 of your lid under your lower lashes
11. Apply the darker silver eyeshadow on the outer 1/2 of your lid under your lower lashes
12. Apply mascara to your eye lashes
If you want to, you could also apply black eyeshadow into your "outer v". To do this use an angled brush and apply the black shadow in a diagonal line from the outer corner of your eyelid toward the eyebrow until you get to the crease, and then move the brush slightly into the crease. This gives you the v shape that will give more depth and definition to your eyes. After defining your outer v, be sure to blend it out well, and then reapply the purple eyeshadow into your crease.

Im a self consious person whats the best makeup, lipgloss, eyeshadow to use for brownskin chicks like me? oh?
and whats the best perfume???any advice ladies??
Girl, I asked a question very similar to this myself. As the other ladies said, check out MAC..one word: amazing. Everything. Also try Iman cosmetics and Fashion fair, as they cater to women of color. One can never go wrong with clear lipgloss, also try perhaps a navy blue eyeshadow or even a hunter green if you want to walk on the wildside. Makeup is about experimenting, so fake it till you make it.
Oh and as for perfumes, each perfume interacts differently with our own personal scent. So what smells good on one woman, may not smell as hot on you. My personal favs: white diamonds, Goddess by Kimora Lee Simmons, and anything from Victoria secret. If on a budget, try the inexpensive "Body Fantasies"..which smell heavenly for about a dollar or so.

So, we all do wear a little makeup for daytime at work or for a glam look in an evening outing. We should be quite familiar with makeup by now. Why not? You apply makeup everyday. But chances are, you are repeating the same makeup mistakes over and over again without even knowing it. Are you a repeat offender when applying your makeup?
Recently, I've been reading alot on makeup techniques from famous makeup artists and makeup experts and guess what? They all lament about the mistakes that women make when applying makeup and these same mistakes are repeated too often. So, I have compiled the list of biggest mistakes in applying makeup.
Makeup mistake 3
Putting on unnecessarily heavy makeup - According to Christina Bartolucci, DuWop's makeup expert, less is more. Less makeup application is best for your looks of all ages. She urged that the older you get, the less makeup you should use. She commented that she has witnessed many many older women wearing heavy foundation and obvious blush, which in reality ages you more. She adviced to opt for a soft tinted moisturizer, a natural pink blush on the apples of the cheeks, neutral eye shadow, black mascara, and a plum-toned lip gloss. That is all we need to look gorgeous. You should stick to neutral colors and less of them-you will look younger.
Makeup mistake 2
Wrong shade of foundation - Makeup artist Bobbi Brown commented that one of the biggest mistake that women ever make is using the wrong shade of foundation. Often, the choice of a wrong foundation makes your face look fake like a mask. A little tip from Bobbi Brown, when choosing your foundation, if you can see the foundation, its not the right shade. She also added, in order to find the perfect match, swatch a few shades of foundation on the of your face. Then check your reflection in natural light. The shade that seems to disappear into your skin is the right one.
Makeup mistake 1
Applying makeup with wrong lighting - Celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath, who has worked with many top Hollywood celebrities and many models commented that this is the all time biggest makeup mistake which most of us are guilty of. She revealed that most women apply makeup in any light other than natural daylight. Daylight reveals true colors whereas incandescent light, the light emitted from most household light bulbs dulls colors and basks the face in a warm yellow cast. When foundation, blush and other colors applied to the face with a dim light, it appears to be softer and more natural than when viewed in natural light which has a bluish cast. Therefore, in true light, the makeup applied will look harsh and unblended, with very visible foundation and blush especially. She advices women to set their makeup tables near the window so they can see their makeup in the same light they will be viewed throughout the whole day.
So there you go, it's time to change your makeup habits a little and it goes a long way in giving you that beautiful flawless face. Don't let the beauty makeup police catch you now...

Would like to buy ESCA makeup, but aren't sure about what to look for in certain advertised ESCA makeup products?
Well, first let's consider what ESCA makeup actually is. ESCA stands for Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis. This is the actual scientific process of analyzing the minerals and make up of mineral makeups to be sure that all of its contents are of 100% pure natural minerals and are of a high quality.
You would want to be sure to choose a particular brand of ESCA makeup that does not use any harsh agents or chemical fillers as this type of cosmetics are supposed to be all natural.
In addition to not having unwanted harsh agents and chemical fillers commonly found in many makeup brands, ESCA makeup should not contribute to the clogging of facial pores and is developed to be a hypo-allergenic cosmetic product.
However, just because a cosmetic product is hypo-allergenic does not necessarily mean that a person will not have any allergic reactions to it. Check the contents and ingredients of all ESCA makeup products carefully to see if you are allergic to any materials and ingredients that are in it. Some people are allergic to gluten and other natural products...Bare Escentuals is a major brand in the ESCA makeup industry and they do include gluten in the ingredients of some of their makeup products. If you do have skin allergies or other types of allergies, you should always be somewhat wary of trying new products.
Another thing to keep in mind is the reputation of a certain company. If they have been in business for many years, it is very likely because they have loyal customers who repeatedly buy their products...in this case, we are speaking of ESCA makeup products. Now, the reason why people keep going back to these companies and buying their products is because they are able and trusted by these consumers to fulfill their need of quality makeup. If a makeup company has a large and loyal following, it may very well be safe to give their products a try.
Check out a great selection of mineral makeup [http://escamakeupoutlet.info] products at the ESCA Makeup Outlet. They feature a ton of Bare Escentuals [http://escamakeupoutlet.info] cosmetics and makeup tools.

Step awaaay from the telephone. Don't make that plastic surgery appointment before you try my tromp d'loi youth-enhancing finishing powder technique. It's easy, and we only need four shades of (non-animal tested, please) loose powder.
Here's what you do. Let's take the example of oh, say, someone who's maturing. Gracefully, mind you. What happens?
Analyze the Situation
Looking in the mirror for an example, I see that the lower portions of my cheeks, for some reason, appear to be more concave than they used to be. This creates a shadow below my cheekbone, and here I am: gaunt.
The second thing I see, looking with partially Zen-trained eyes so as to avoid uncomfortable feelings of horror, are these two weird lumpy fleshy things hanging down from either side of my jaw, well into the top of the neck area. In the old days, I believe these were referred to as "jowls." In the 21st century, however, they are nothing more than things-to-be-concealed.
And finally, there's this cheekbone that I can still feel, but I can't actually see anymore. Darn.
Good news: None of this is major if you know how to contour. There are many ways to contour, as theatrical makeup artists know. But the way we'll be tackling today is as simple as applying your final round of loose powder at the end of your makeup application.
Loose powder, setting powder, finishing powder - they're all the same thing. We're not talking about mineral powder, which is a foundation. We're talking about what goes on overLet's Do It
Let's say you've got your eye makeup, eyebrows and foundation on, and you're ready for the contouring.
Take your powder blush and a clean, narrow (non-animal hair) brush. Figure out where your cheekbone should be, and brush the blush on the lower half of it, starting at the center, blending down a tiny bit, and then blending back toward the ear. (Never put any red tones on the inside of the cheek or near the nose - it will look like rosacea.)
Now take your matte textured highlighter. Brush it across the top outer half of what you previously determined to be your cheekbone. Blend it back toward the ear (not up, because it will get into the under eye area and cause another disaster), then sweep it up the temple to just above the eyebrow.
Needless to say, apply with a light touch and blend with a heavy hand.
Next, and you can experiment with your colors here, put a light mint green powder in that large abyss of caved-in cheek. This area goes from below your blush to just above your jaw line. Blend this powder up along the side of the nose. That will eliminate redness, which often appears in the nose and related cheek area.
Using the same mint green powder (some women use yellow - you'll have to experiment - just don't go in for your Passport picture until you get this straightened out), brush over what your grandmother used to call "jowls" (They've got to invent a new word for that.).
And finally, to create the illusion of a neck, select a powder that is a number of shades darker than your foundation, and a non-animal hair brush that is medium wide, tapered, and medium-stiff (called a foundation brush). Dip the brush into the dark powder, and, with the side of the brush, draw a narrow line right under where your jaw bone begins near the under-ear area. Stop just short of the "jowl" area. Now go back and blend that powder downward. Look in the mirror. You'll see a neck! It's so cool.
And I'm not even that old. I don't know what happened.
Post Contour Procedure
Anyway, after all this contouring is done, you'll want to set the whole thing with your normal, translucent loose finishing powder. Yes, it's powder over powder, but it works. Press the translucent powder into your makeup with a puff or foam wedge. Never brush it on, because you'll ruin all your work. Pressing translucent powder into your face takes a little time, but it will help your makeup last all day.
After the translucent setting powder, take a wide, fluffy soft non-animal hair brush, and gently whisk away any remaining gunk from your face.
Before going on your date, or going down the hall to throw the trash down the chute, check your final face in different kinds of light. Check it by the window, check it in the garage under fluorescent light, check it with your magnifying mirror, run to the car and check it in your rearview mirror. Make sure it looks somewhat natural. If it doesn't, that means you either haven't blended enough, or you've used colors that are too dark. (Trust me when I say mint green. I used green green once in a state of desperation, and the result made me look like I just got off a small plane without having taken a motion sickness pill.)
There are other ways to contour the face, but using finishing powders is the quickest, easiest, and most subtle. Well, somewhat subtle. You decide. Check out the article Keeping Wrinkles Away - Without Surgery [http://www.mymakeupmirror.com/anti-aging.html] for more systemic youth-management techniques.
The Cast
Cruelty-free products used were (in order of appearance): Merle Norman's Luxiva Lasting Cheekcolor in Bare Coral; Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (it does have a slight shimmer, but it's mostly matte), Red Earth Loose Powder in GR130 (If you prefer yellow, try Cargo Loose Powder in PL-02 or Urban Decay Universal Loose Powder in Nirvana.), and Vincent Longo Perfect Canvas Loose Powder in Cafe Creme #5. You'll have to find your own color of dark powder, depending on your skin tone.
For a translucent finishing powder, you can use whatever's falling out of your drawer: Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder, BareMinerals Mineral Veil, and Afterglow Translucent Organic Setting Powder all work well.

Has anyone had the misfortune of dropping something into the toilet?
I dropped my face powder brush down it once and couldn't bear to pluck it out.
I went to a house party a few years ago and after using the toilet i was washing my hands and knocked a beaker of the side of the sink that contained tooth brushes straight in the pan. i didn't know what to do so i just put them back in the beaker and went back to the party....
felt guilty when i sobered up but still didn't say anything.

Wash your hands. It's a simple act. For anyone who handles food, proper hand washing can mean the difference between safe food and serious illness for the people they serve.
Everyone's hands have a large population of microorganisms, chiefly bacteria, and a few yeasts and fungus. The organism can be divided into two groups, resident and transient. Resident microorganisms live on the hands all the time. Most of them don't make us sick, and they help with the skin's task of preventing more dangerous bacteria from getting into the body. Transient microorganisms include most of the ones that cause disease. They arrive at the skin either by direct contact, i.e. the hands touch something where the microorganism lives, or by aerosol, airborne germs landing on the hands. Once on the hands, these transient organisms hang around like thugs on a street corner, waiting for a disruption in the body's disease prevention system that will allow them to infect the body. While they're waiting, they're also able to be transferred to something else, such as food.
The goal of handwashing is to reduce the population of microorganisms on the hands, especially the bad actors in the transient population. Dr Peter Snyder of the Hospitality Institute of Technology and Management has studied the ways that transient germs get onto the skin and the best techniques for removing them.
He reports that touching almost anything-hair, money, shoes, a dirty uniform, the floor, soiled cleaning equipment-can bring hands in contact with transient germs, but the most dangerous source of contamination is contact with fecal material when a food handler defecates. Most people think of toilet paper as a protection against contact with fecal material, but in fact there are no performance standards for toilet paper: strength when wet, resistance to tearing, and absorbency all vary widely. It is a mistake to assume that toilet paper will reliably protect hands from fecal contact.
The most effective tactic is a thorough hand washing, including the use of a nail brush. Although most restrooms have a sign posted reminding food handlers to wash their hands, the more effective place to do the washing is in the kitchen, where a sink, a nail brush, soap, and freely running warm water, between 115 and 120 degrees, can be provided, and reliably monitored.
The soap should be capable of working up a good lather, because the lather is required to remove the material, such as dirt or feces, in which the microorganisms are lodged. Antibacterial soap is not required, and when used very frequently can irritate the skin. Any good soap that creates a lather will get the job done.
Hand washing is a two step process. In step one, wash with soap and scrub under and around the fingernails with a soft brush, working up a lather. The brush dislodges particles of dirt, food, fecal matter, and other materials that have collected under the fingernails. Rinse under flowing water until all the lather is gone. The dangerous microorganisms are now in the lather, and the job's not done until they're all rinsed away.
Step two is another wash, without the brush, lathering all over the hands, between the fingers, and up to the wrists. Rinse again under continuously flowing water, and be sure all the lather is rinsed away. Dry thoroughly with an unused paper towel. Leaving hands damp provides an attractive growth site for any remaining bacteria. Paper towels are preferred to air blowers, which have been shown to blow airborne germs air onto hands.
Getting employees to understand the importance of handwashing is a continuing task. New employees must be educated about the need for handwashing, and taught the correct procedure. Review and retraining is also essential. It takes commitment on the part of management and employees, but once a culture of handwashing is established, a food service operation has assured itself and the people it serves of a vastly safer experience.
Food poisoning lawyer Frederick Schenk has helped people through the claims process after suffering a serious injury, especially those caused by negligence or failure to follow safe handling procedures. After receiving a medical diagnosis, it is very important to follow up as soon as possible with an foodborne illness attorney, while evidence is still available and access to witnesses and other parties involved is easiest.

One of the most important items to have in your makeup kit is a good set of makeup brushes. These brushes come in a variety of different sizes and can serve a plethora of different purposes. Here is a look at what to expect when buying makeup brushes and where you can purchase them.
The first type of makeup brush is one that you can use to apply powder. These are generally larger with very fine bristles. You can choose a longer or shorter handle all depending upon your own personal likes. When using this type of brush you will want to put the brush over the powder and do a gentle shaking to rid it of any excess before applying to your face. Be sure to wash them thoroughly and let them dry out.
You can use the same type of brush to apply your blush but it is important to have the two separate ones to do the job so the makeup does not get mixed up resulting in you put on too much powder or blush. When you go to put on the blush you will went to dip it onto the blush much like you do the powder and shake off the extra.
In addition to the type of brushes you can use to apply powder and blush there are smaller brushes that can help you with applying other makeup such as the eyeliner. These brushes are usually very small. To apply eyeliner with a small brush you can simply put the brush in the eye shadow of your choice and apply it to the very edge of your eye. You can choose to do this to both the upper lid as well as the lower lid if you like.
For applying eye shadow you will want to get a somewhat larger brush than the one you would use to apply your eyeliner. You would simply apply it directly over the eye lid up to the eyebrow.
You can buy makeup brushes at a number of different stores or you can buy them online. There are many benefits of buying them online. Buying them online enables you to compare prices and ensure you get the best deal on the type of brushes you need for your makeup collection.

How do you apply loose powder and not make a mess?
I recently switched to Everyday Minerals makeup. I have never used loose powder ever! I have used it a few days now. Every time I apply my makeup with the brush, I end up with powder in my hair and on my shoulders. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can apply the loose powder without making a mess. Thanks!
Yes i use the same makeup - Everyday Minerals. What you have to do is just sprinkle a bit onto the lid (only a tiny bit) and just twirl your brush in the lid so all of it goes on the brush and then tap of all excess powder and then just keep buffing it onto your skin untill its well blended .... also buff it up near your temples and jawline so you dont look like your wearing a mask and blend it in well. Hopefully it wont go all over then. xxx

At makeup counters, I'm a skeptic. Because I worked in marketing for 13 years, I can sniff out the ploys cosmetic companies use to pull the wool over our eyes. They've realized that in the land of video and photography, high definition techniques have pushed makeup artists and directors of photography toward changing their methods to account for the much clearer pictures we are now seeing on our TV sets and out of our still images. So the makeup companies have jumped on the band-wagon and tried to put the term "high definition" in as many products as they can to make a buck. The problem I have with it is that they don't perform and many labeled "high definition" can't actually be used in high def situations.
What is all of the buzz about high definition and filming anyway? High definition concerns for filming and photography are really the same as they have been in real life when we are looking at a person's face. What we see live is what we now see on the new high resolution TV screens or in photos. For TV especially, makeup artists and talent used to be able to get away with piling on heavy foundation to hide the ills of the skin. And doing a quickie makeup application was okay because a wayward lip liner was never noticeable for film, but that's not the case now. But it's never been the case when women are seen face to face in makeup. So the new "high definition" revolution really isn't a revolution at all; it's simply about film and photography crew putting more of a spotlight on achieving those fresh and natural looks we've always worn in our homes, offices and on the streets-everywhere outside a studio. They now have to capture reality. We only are hearing it labeled as a high definition situation because buzzwords are powerful attention getters. We stand up and listen and cosmetics companies know we will.
If you take out the term "high definition" to define our makeup, we are left with familiar descriptions of the way we've always wanted to appear in makeup, whether it's called "high definition" or not. We really are talking about makeup that performs well so that the skin still looks like real skin, pores aren't really noticeable, blemishes are hidden naturally, but the powder we use to hide them is also invisible; there are no obvious seams where a colour stops and starts-meaning the blend of the product is really smooth, there are no mismatches in the colours of the face with the neck, the shades are true to real skin and not too pink. And the makeup doesn't make the hairs on the face and jaw-line look like peach fuzz!
HD in the products means that cosmetics manufacturers have tried harder with foundations to make them fill in lines on the face, so often they contain silicone that is like spackle filling cracks on a wall. It feels beautiful but I find that silicone is too slippery and the foundations with this base, don't last as long; they almost seem to repel the makeup instead of allowing it to grab onto the skin.
HD in face powders means they are finely milled and when you touch them you can barely feel them on your fingers; one of the popular ones I've tried filled the lines around my eyes, smoothing them nicely but when I had my photo taken there was a huge white ring below.
The bottom line is that many of the products on the market are called high definition but when I've tested them in high definition situations, they don't perform. A popular one sold at a leading makeup mecca (no names mentioned. Don't want to pick on them too much) was way too pink and went on a little thick. Many of them also contain SPF which means you can't have your photo taken without a white ashy face flashing back in the final shot.
Here are what your high definition makeup looks should be aiming at and my favourite products to accomplish it. Sorry, they aren't the ones labeled high definition.
Skin that looks real. MAC Face and Body Foundation, Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Cinema Secrets Cream Foundation, Kett Airbrush makeup systems (great when you are having someone else apply makeup for you)
Pores that aren't noticeable: Blot with MAC Blot powder
Blemishes covered naturally. Use Makeup Forever Full Coverage Concealer
Mascara that doesn't clump: Maybelline Great Lash
Under-eye concealers that aren't too thick but still cover your darkness: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector
Blushes that blend smoothly: L'oreal Bare Naturale Mineral Blush. "Pinched Pink" is a great universal colour
For women to get that high definition, "ready for my close-up" look, they need to augment their makeup shopping with a great skin care routine that includes skin moisturizers and treatment creams that are chemical exfoliants. I suggest a daily retinol cream; ROC makes nice ones as does Neutrogena. They must be packaged in metal containers to protect their active ingredients from decomposing. And about 3 times a week, use an Alpha-hydroxy Acid Cream of 8% strength. These powerful face products will keep the skin at it's best and ready for the products that actually do work, whether or not they are labeled high definition.

I want to be a makeup artist, and a beautician?
Hi, I am obsessed with dyeing hair, makeup, and everything like that. My 2 dream jobs are that I want to be a beautician, and I want to be a makeup artist. For the beauty school, I have that covered, I know where I want to go to school and everything. But for the makeup artist, I am a little confused. I want to work out a Mac cosmetics store, and I need to know if I need to go to college for that, and if so what are some good college's? thankyou so much.
I don't think you'd need to go to college to work at a Mac store, but it would definitely help. You could get an Associate's (2 year) degree in Sales or Marketing to assure that you know how to approach people and make your products sound amazing. You want to have people dying to buy your products! =]
