Your Manual Lawn Mower - The Faithful Walk Behinds
Tools: The tools that your will require for doing this job are
You and your time of about 2 hours or less
A bastard file of about 12" long
A small crow bar to prevent movement of rotor of lawn mower.
A worktable will be useful for dong the job comfortably.
Procedure: You can use the following procedure as a general guide and make changes to it to suit you. Remember the procedure is not sacrosanct. The results are important, not the procedure.
If possible, remove the handle of lawn mower and place lawn mower on the table.
Secure it if possible in the clamps. If you do not have clamps, do not bother, secure it against any block, so that the movement away from you is restricted.
Fix the crowbar in the blades so that it will not rotate
With the help of the bastard file, file the edges of blades so that they look sharp. Work at an angle of 45 degrees
When one blade is sharpened, remove the crowbar and turn the rotor to work on another blade. Repeat the procedure until all blades are sharpened.
If you have a flexible shaft grinder in your DIY workshop, you will be able to complete the work within 5 to 10 minutes per blade. Make a template of blade profile before you start your work and compare frequently. This is necessary to ensure that you do not over cut at a place.
Safety Tip For You
While sharpening the blades ensure that the stroke is not too long otherwise, you may injure yourself.
Sharpening Blades Of Power Mower
Depending upon the lawn mower the procedure may vary. We have included general statements in this procedure; you would have to change the procedure slightly. Keep the maintenance manual of lawn mower handy if you have one.

Siphon hose and clean container
Heavy work gloves and goggles
Double-cut (medium-rough) flat file
Lumber scrap

Bench vise or C clamps
Rotary blade sharpener accessory
Electric drill*
Screwdriver, or 1/4-in. rod or bolt*
Blade balancer
Replacement blade*
* Only if required
The list may look formidable, but tools are generally available with every DIY enthusiast.
Procedure:
The procedure is given for the simple single blade lawn mower, but the same will apply to all types of blades, whether single or double
Wear hand gloves and clean the engine and the gasoline tank from outside
Remove spark plug from the engine
Remove all the fuel from the tank of the gasoline engine. Use the siphon hose so you do not spill gasoline on floor.
Completely empty out the oil from gearbox if you have one
Invert the engine and have access to the blade.
Clamp the engine so it does not move and clean the blade area thoroughly
With help of a box spanner, remove the nut holding the blade. Usually the nut will be unlocked in the reverse to direction of rotation of engine. You may engage the screwdriver in the cooling fan of engine to stop rotation of engine.
If you find that you are using too much force to unlock the nut, put one or two drops of rust removing chemical, and try after 30 minutes
After you remove the blade, clamp it in the bench vise and sharpen it with a file or a grinder. Sharpen only the outer 2 to 3 inches. The area to be sharpened will be known if you see the blade.
Sharpen only to the required extent. Too much sharpening is not necessary. This is not the knife. It works at the speed of the engine
After sharpening, check with your thumb. Be careful not to cut thumb. If you have done sharpening before, or seen some one doing it, you will know what we mean by this.
Balance the blade with help of a small balancing tool on VEE blocks, or even on two foot rulers placed side by side
Refit the blades, refill engine oil and gasoline and test the sharpness of blades on uncut portion of your lawn

Always use safety goggles and hand gloves when working with power tools.
Be sure to remove the spark plug before starting. Serious accidents can happen if you do not do this.

Cats are very particular about their own cleaning. They spend a lot of time covering up in the litter box, grooming themselves, and grooming other cats in the household. However, cats usually enjoy having their owner groom them as well.
You can begin your grooming routine with a good cat brush. Select a high quality brush from your pet supply store. Choose one that's made for cat hair so you encourage growth and shine. A cheap brush or one designed for human or dog hair could actually harm your cat's coat of fur.
Brushing will help prevent your cat's fur from forming hairballs. As you brush, you pick up any loose hairs on your cat's fur, which greatly decreases the risk they will ingest the fur.

This is a good time to check your cats teeth and claws. Teeth should look relatively clean and free of plaque, and your cats claws should extend and retract easily. Look for any abrasions or cuts on the foot pads as well.
Clipping your cats claws is very easy. Use a special set of cat clippers and clip above the claw quicks. This will keep your cat's claws trimmed so they don't grow too long. You'll still get scratched if your cat decides to use them, but there's less chance of claws damaging furniture or wood floors. The claws stay healthier, as well.

Tips for applying makeup like a pro and oily skin?
I'm 23 and I've never been super great at applying my makeup. Usually, I can get it to look great, and within the hour my face has begun to sweat and get oily and it looks like I'm not wearing anything but eyeshadow, and it looks terrible.
My usual routine is as follows:
use an astigent to combat my oily skin. I then apply topical acne medication on my problem areas. When that dries, I use concealer, followed by a powder foundation. Next, I'll use a little blush, and apply eyeshadow and mascara. I finish it off with a mineral finishing veil.
Am I doing anything wrong? How can I make it not "dissapear" so quickly, and also how can I get my acne prone skin to look almost flawless?
Also, any tips on color selections would be great, too. I have green eyes, very fair skin and auburn hair (very irish, hahaha)

I'm 23 and have the same problem. You don't seem to be using a primer. Put that on after you use the toner and acne medication. It helps makeup stay on. Then I apply my makeup per ususal.
The person who said using a higher brand of makeup is right. I bought some at Sephora and it makes a huge difference. I love Clinique as it has oil free makeup. Bare Minerals is also wonderful.
Then there are these wipes that absorb oil. You can buy them at Bath and Body Works, Walgreens, pretty much anywhere. Blot them on your face when you feel it getting oily or before you even feel it and it will absorb the oil.
This should help but I've found in really hot weather and on certain days I just need to reapply my makeup.
For truly flawles skin I would say go with MAC, it makes you look like a movie star. It's not the best for you skin though so only use it when you want to look perfect.
For everyday help with acne prone skin put moisturizer on before you put the concealer on and it will blend into your skin more and put it on don't rub it on.
I'm from Ireland so I know how it is to have fair skin. Golden and peachy tones look good with green eyes and fair skin, purple colors look good with auburn hair. For everyday go with a light brownish color that has a bit of a gold touch to it and use brown mascara. Use a dab of peach blush and your good to go. For dressing it up choose a color that brings out one of your features like your eyes or hair and play it up.

Here are 8 tips and tricks to help make sure you don't ever have to pay full price on beauty products.
Tip 1: Try before you buy.
Google "free samples" and check out the sites that offer free samples for hair, skin, and cosmetic products. Remember, you DON'T have to pay for samples.
Walmart has a section for featured free samples where you can try John Frieda Hair care, Frizz-Ease, Always Clean, and much more.
Freakyfreddies offers samples of Schick Quattro, Curel, Olay, L'Oreal, Revlon, Mary Kay, Lancome, and other big names in the beauty business.
Tip 2: Use coupons.
Before you scoff at coupons, think: people save serious cash when they buy using coupons. Go online and look for websites that offer one day deals, buy-one-get-one-free offers, and coupons. These deals are available only in websites, not in stores.
Tip 3: Know when department stores throw sales.
Beauty products have a shelf life. To sell them off before they expire, department stores don't only offer free samples and demos, they throw huge sales the day after Thanksgiving and in August to sell off products they might not be able to sell before expiry.
Tip 4: Buy from drugstores instead of department stores and luxury shops.
Looking for body lotions? Skin lotions? Get them from stores like Costco, Sam's Club, Walgreens, or Walmart. These stores sell products much cheaper than other stores do. Keep your eyes peeled for those 25% and 50% bonus marks on the bottles.
Tip 5: Buy beauty products from a beauty store.

Tip 6: You can buy hair coloring kits anywhere.
Forget making a trip to your favorite luxury shop. Whether you need a cheap hair coloring product or a costly one, you can get them for a lower price at Rite Aid and Walmart. Look for stock up and merchandise offered with special deals.
Tip 7: Use a frequent buyer card.
There's no shame in using a frequent buyer card. Think of it as your reward for patronizing a store's services often.
Tip 8: If you're unhappy with a product, call the manufacturers up.

hey im 14 and have been wearing makeup for 2 years, i wear lancome color ideal foundation and like it. i usually wear my eyliner dark and smokey, for an edgy punk look, i have light brown hair with blonde highlites and the underneith is dark, my eyes are brown and skin is fair, i need a new way to wear my make up, the whole thing, blush, eyeliner, application tips, lip gloss, bronzer, and i need to find someing that will show me exactly how to apply my makeup, everything from which brushes to use, which colors will work, techniques, everything please help, i still want to keep the girly, sorta punk look, and am not a person who likes the tan look , thanx
these are just some tips but you really dont need any info on how to change up ur look just do it...
Heres what I do:
I dont use foundation cause it is way to thick for me so i use a face lotion then maybe a little powder foundation- then sheer cover ~ For eyes I use liquid eyeliner and make it very thick towards outer part of my eyes then just rub some black/ gray eye shadow in with the eyeliner to make it smokey~ for they eyes never put eye shadow all the way up to your eye brows (i'm sure you know that but when i was ur age i did that!)
but i use a lot of dark grays and they look good on me~then for lashes i use XXL~ for lips i use a dark red lip stick then some gloss

Summer is tricky in a tropical climate where you sweat profusely. Applying make-up during summer is even trickier and to prevent them from dripping from your face is the trickiest of the lot.
A bride must look her best on her wedding day. The aim of bridal make-up is that it should look good on photo. Contrarily, in most instances the bride's make-up looks overdone in the photos. Here's the point, you don't need loads of make-up to look good. Just define your features accentuating your eyes and lips. On the whole a minimalist approach is the order of the day.
To be fabulous on your wedding day and for that 'picture perfect' look, a little planning ahead on skin care does wonders for you to look more than just good.
Avoid the whites- sugar, salt and refined flour. Sugar attaches to collagen fibers on the skin and makes it look saggy. Salt causes water retention making you look puffy and refined flour makes your digestion go haywire. Alcohol causes swelling and blotches skin.
Eat lots of fruits and vegetables rich in anti-oxidants that are yummy for your skin. Hydrate by taking eight to ten glasses of water to flush out the toxins from your body. Follow a cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine followed by adequate protection. Exfoliate using face and body scrub to remove the dead cells. Have a facial done at least two weeks prior to your wedding day. Don't experiment with anything new since that can result in breakouts and blemish your skin.
Have a special manicure and pedicure done to slough off the dead skin. Use intensive moisturizing cream on hands and feet liberally to keep them soft. Get your beauty's sleep to rub off the weary look from your face.
Avoid the sun to the maximum. If unavoidable use sunscreen with minimum SPF 15.
Tanning would make your skin look unevenly dark on camera. Use a bronzer instead to give you a 'totally bronzed look'.
Use ice as coolant on your skin before make-up application. This will prevent clogging of pores while applying foundation. In case of an oily skin use a transparent primer which acts as a film between your skin and the make-up to prevent melting due to heat. Another point would be to use compressed powder (compact) that can absorb sweat to an extent.
Keep tissues handy to pat out the excess sweat. Most liquid foundation is thick and better to avoid. Instead opt for a tinted moisturizer that helps in evening out skin tone.
Use refrigerated lip balm as a base coat before application of lipstick. Chilled lip balm doesn't smear when applied while retaining the moisture. Avoid using lipsticks that have orange tones since that would make your teeth look yellow. Go for darker shades than the usual like maroons and browns.
Same goes for eye liner which tends to smudge because of the heat and humidity. Go for powdered eye shadow than pencils or liners. Use waterproof eyeliner to combat sweat. Use a primer instead of direct application of powdered eye shadow to prevent crease formation.
Use a brush to apply make up to create a more natural look. Dusting pink powder blush lightly across the cheeks will provide a nice contour to the cheeks besides giving a dewy appearance to your face.
Please note what goes for your face also applies for your neck. Don't forget to pamper the neck otherwise on the D-day your neck will have a different story to tell of its own. If you are hypo-allergenic or possess a sensitive skin go for a swatch of the cosmetics you plan to use to check for allergies.
Finally, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Having said this it must also be said that to make the beholder see your beauty you need to do something about it. Looking good is not about just wearing make-up, rather it is about how skillfully you apply to make the most of it. The accent is on highlighting your best points.

I bought they 8 pc. set a couple days ago that came with the skin rev-er upper lotion in the white bottle. Do I put that on BEFORE i apply my mineral makeup or do i apply it to a clean face before i go to bed? what do i use it for and when?
I apply it to a cleansed face before i apply the foundation. It is supposed to prepare your face for the makeup. But over all i believe it's more of a moisturizer. I still use a makeup primer other than the skin rev-er upper and i apply that after the skin rev-er upper. Bare minerals makes a primer called Prime Time which creates a smooth canvas for your foundation to be applied evenly. It really makes a difference to the way your minerals go on your face. Hopefully that helps you!
