Japonesque brushes?
Have anyone try their makeup brushes? Are they worth the money because they are as pricey as professional brushes? I know they sell them in ULTA and I was thinking about getting some brushes from that line but wasn't sure if they were good qualities brushes. Thanks.

Honestly, Japonesque brushes are not as good as most professional brushes, nor are they as expensive. I personally find they shed and the glue in the brush shafts comes loose after even careful use and cleaning. I don't really recommend them. If you are looking for an inexpensive brush set try Costco. They have a really decent one for under $40 that comes with everything you need to do basic makeup. They seem to hold up better in general.
If you are willing to spend a little extra, try MAC, Bobbi Brown or Prescriptives for their brushes. Even sephora carries better brushes in their pro line.

I would actually not go with any of those. I have tried MANY different types of mascara and I have found that the best out of all of them is Elizabeth Arden. Forget those crappy ones where you have to apply twice, one for length and one for thickness or whatever. Although Elizabeth Arden may cost a bit more, it will pay off completely.
It seems that for every type of mineral makeup there is also a different technique to apply it. Now, each company may have slight differences in their makeup that when it is applied a certain way will make it look or adhere better. However, there are some very basic guidelines to applying mineral makeup that will work with almost any brand you buy. Of course, it's always preferable that you develop your own personal style- your own touch. You know how you like your makeup to look, so practice, practice, practice until you get your application method how you like it. After all, it is your face.
Applying Foundation/ Finishing Powder
Foundation is admittedly the hardest to apply. You see some brands that say "swirl, tap, buff" and other brands that say "don't!" What are you supposed to do?
The general rule of thumb is that if a mineral makeup contains bismuth oxychloride, you'll likely have to buff it in, and buff it in well, for the makeup to look its best. Generally a kabuki brush is used with this technique.
What's A Kabuki?
Good question! It's a very densely packed brush. It gives very heavy coverage because so much more makeup is left on the bristles after you tap. It's a good option for people who want a more opaque look or need heavier coverage. Usually with a kabuki you must buff the minerals into your skin, or else you'll look streaky, emphasize your pores, etc.
Buffing techniques, usually with a kabuki, are known to irritate sensitive skin. Even women without sensitive skin have problems with irritation. Remember, it's "swirl, tap, buff."
Fluffy Brushes
Using a fluffy face brush is the other popular way to apply mineral makeup. Better quality makeup is more pigmented, so using a kabuki is out of the question for most women. But a nice fluffy brush is just the ticket since a little makeup goes a long way. Whether you choose synthetic or animal hair brushes is up to you. Both can be equally good, depending on the quality. The same basic rules apply as with the kabuki- swirl your brush in the makeup, tap off the excess and the brush in a downward motion over your face. No need to buff. If you'd like more coverage, just repeat the steps again.
"Swirl, tap, brush." Almost the same words, but incredibly different effects.
Applying Foundation Wet
Wet? Yup. There are some gals who prefer the finish when mineral makeup is applied wet. There are a couple of ways to do it.
With A Brush- Mix your foundation and some water/moisturizer/lotion, etc. until a creamy consistency. Then dip your brush in it and apply in a downward motion. It will dry to a soft powder.
With A Puff/Sponge- You can either dampen your puff or sponge and dip it into your foundation and apply in a downward motion or mix the foundation with water/moisturizer/lotion and apply with a sponge. It will dry to a soft powder.
Finally, you can apply your foundation dry, then mist with a hydrosol or something similar and either use a brush or a sponge to smooth the moisture into the powder. Be sure to use a downward motion. Some gals even like to layer their makeup this way. Powder, mist, smooth. Powder, mist, smooth.
Why The Downward Motion?
Good question. Your pores and facial fuzz lay that way naturally. When you smooth your makeup that direction it makes a more "natural" look.
Other Facial Applications
For your other color cosmetics applied to face, here are the general outlines.
Concealor- Using a taklon concealor brush or an all-over eyeshadow brush, dip it into the concealor or foundation you're using, tap off most of the excess and apply directly to the area you want to conceal. Blend very, very well. If you're using an all over concealor, complexion enhancer, finishing powder, etc. use a fluffy face brush and swirl, tap and brush lightly in a downward motion.
Blush- Swirl, tap, brush in a slight curve from the apple of your cheek to your hairline. A nice fluffy blush brush works best.
Eyeshadow/ Eyeliner Application
This is the really fun stuff. You can apply mineral makeup wet or dry. Applying it wet is called "foiling" and makes the colors more bold and can even change them slightly in some cases.
For regular application, simply dip your brush into the color, tap off the excess and apply like you normally would.
For foiling, mix some minerals with water, hydrosol, eye primer, etc. until a creamy consistency. Then apply as you normally would. When dry you can buff with a dry brush to blend (but this may cause some of the mica to come away).
The foiling method works very well for eye lining. Colors that might be too bold to wear on your eye make great liner colors. Foiling them will help them last longer and show up better.
And that's it! These basic tips should help you apply mineral make up like a pro. Play around with it, develop your own style and technique, and most of all...Have Fun!

Brushes: Don't buy from MAC without looking at these first! Sigma Makeup makes MAC brush comparables for a much cheaper price and equal quality. They even have the same numbering system. I reccommend getting the 12 Piece set. It comes with 5 face brushes, 7 eye brushes, and a free travel size 217 eye brush. Blush: Those are both good brands! If you go with MAC I'd get Well Dressed or Orgasm if you're going with NARS.
Eyeshadow: I recommend All That Glitters for lid applied with a 239 and Satin Taupe lightly dusted in the crease with a 217. Use Blanc Type as a highlight on the brow bone and tear duct. If you want to add a little more color and deepen out the look, I'd suggest Sketch applied with a 219 to the outer v and smudged on the lower lashes.
Powders: I love my MSF natural! I'd stick with it :]
Eyeliner: MAC fluid line is great, but a much cheaper drugstore alternative with almost the exact same quality is L'Oreal HiP Color Truth Cream Liner. It's amazing! You get so much more product than MAC Fluid Line for less money. the 266 is my favorite liner brush, but the 209 also works well.

You can always get a doctor to get rid of your skin tags; however, because it is generally considered a cosmetic problem, many insurance companies won't cover the procedure. This leaves you paying a large bill for what is considered a fairly simple process. Before you head off to the doctors office, why not try these simple home methods for getting rid of skin tags.
The first option you have for getting rid of your skin tags is to simply cut them off. It is important to note when doing this that there is a serious risk of infection if you use this method improperly. You should not only use brand new implements for this procedure, but you should also sterilize them first.
You can clean them either by soaking them in a sanitizer (the kind you clean yourself with, not your house) or putting them in fire for a minute or so. Just be sure to let them cool first if you put them in fire. You can clip off the skin tags with small scissors, but you may find it easier to use nail clippers. Simply snip the tag off at the bottom near the healthy skin. This sounds like it hurts a lot, but is generally not too painful. Be sure to have cotton balls or bandages around though, just in case you do bleed some.
Another method for skin tag removal is freezing them off. Doctors often use this method for getting rid of skin tags and warts, but products have come on the market in recent years for doing this at home. Simply find the product at a grocery store and follow the instructions. Because these kits are small and less effective than what a doctor uses, you should probably only consider this method for small tags.
The last home option available for getting rid of skin tags is to cut off their blood supply. This sounds slightly dangerous, but is probably the safest of the home removal options. In this method, you cut off the blood supply to the skin tag by tying string very tightly around the base of the tag.
Depending on the location of your skin tags, you will probably need help tying the string tight enough. Remember to use strong string and to tie it as tightly as possible. You will need to knot the string and keep in on for a few days. After the tag has been cut off from the blood supply, it will eventually die and simply fall off.
While these remedies may be effective for getting rid of skin tags, there are some instances where you should see a doctor instead. There are rare occasions where a skin tag can be malignant, so if you have one dramatically change size or color, you should see a doctor. You should also consult a doctor if anything goes wrong with the removal or if the entire tag doesn't come off. Again, remember to be safe, sterilize, and get someone to help you if you need it.

My father is hounding me to give his airedale a hair cut!!!! I don't even know how...he has the expensive clippers etc., is there an easy fast way someone could expain to me? to just remove the hair and give her some shape?
Ah yes, we had airedales for years growing up, and I had to figure out on my own how to clip them. Start by looking at lots and lots of pictures of coiffed Airedales. This is the only way to really understand the job at hand, as Airedales have "furnishings" that need to be carefully preserved. In a nutshell, the legs (including the light colored haunches) are kept bushy, the beard is kept full and eyebrows are left. The chest underneath is also left longer to give a nice line. To start, the back, neck, and tail are clipped to an inch or so (your prefference...start longer and work shorter until you like the length). When you clip the tail, you can clip and shape around her backside to ease the length into the longer length on the legs. Next, depending on how long you want to leave the furnishings, you can do one of two things. The right way is to trim the legs with scissors, easing the lines of the light, long leg fur into the dark coat on the back so your dog doesn't look like she's wearing a tutu. Neatly trim the feet as well, including between the pads if neccesary. The quick option is to use the longest comb you have on your clipper and just buzz the legs down, just as long as the fur is kept noticably longer than that on the back. You will still need to neaten with scissors. Next you trim just her her belly very short, with special care around her "special parts". Switch back to scissors and trim the bottom of the fur hanging down under her from her chest. You'll want to leave it a couple inches long, and again ease the length into the length of the shorter fur on her sides. Now the head. I usually would just use the clipper up the neck to the top of the head, do the ears and cheeks, then stop. From there on in I'd use scissors to trim around the eyes and the side of the face, leaving the nice bushy beard and eyebrows. Hope this helps! Don't worry if it takes a few tries before dog looks professionally groomed...it will take a bit of practice. Once you get a good shape going, it will be much easier to touch up her coat periodically than to let her grow back out and look like a wookie again before you dive back in.

Well, it's very hard to choose a Valentine's gift for my husband. More details:

“Love vitamins”. You will need: colored candies, the empty packet of vitamins where you stick on a new label with words “Love vitamins”. ” To consult with your doctor or pharmacist does not need, take these vitamins as often as you want! Only caution – do not make yourself sweetened.” (or make your own label based on how you feel about him)
Laminate a photo of the two of you, made into a bookmark - so it can be a few small pics or just one, glue it to construction paper with hearts, then hole punch the top and put a ribbon of some kind through the hole and tie it off.
Make cookies:
Quick Banana Chocolate Chip Bars
1 Medium Ripe Banana, peeled
1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
¾ Cup Brown Sugar, packed
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
¼ Teaspoon Salt
1/3 Cup Olive or Vegetable Oil
2 Tablespoons Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 Egg
¼ Cup Chopped Nuts
½ Cup Chocolate Chips (or what feels good)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray small rectangular or 9x9 square baking pan with non-stick spray.
Chop or mash banana. Combine with flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, oil, milk, vanilla and egg in large bowl. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips to this mixture OR save them to add as topping, sprinkling on top of mixture after poured into the pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Cream butter and sugar until light. Mix in vanilla, then flour, oats and salt. Chill thoroughly. Shape into small balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with a fork, crisscrossing. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-18 minutes (depending on your oven). Sprinkle with Powdered Sugar

I have tried so many. Some work ok, others just clump my lashes so much it is not even funny. I have dark blonde hair so my lashes are light brown. I have your basic lashes, not super full and not super long. I seem to have problems curling them right. How close do you get it to the lash line?
My bottom ones are very far apart. Should you even use mascara in that case?
If I use the dark brown, the lashes don't seem to show up that well and aren't noticable.

You could go to school to become an Esthetician (also spelled Aesthetician). Depending on what State you want to be licensed in you'll need between 600-1500 hours of training. In Utah, where I'm licensed I needed 1200. It isn't just make up though. You learn all about skin care, facials, waxing (depending on the school, laser treatments) and other stuff like that.
If you want to be a make up artist exclusively most states don't require an official license, but there are still plenty of places that offer courses which is always a good idea. I think sephora university is more like a series of workshops that you pay for separately and it isn't really a structured school. I'm not sure if you can take the classes if you're not an employee of sephora either.
Aside from that, if you've got the drive and willingness to put yourself out there, practice on anyone who will let you and network like crazy, you can make a living without any formal training. Its been done. Start now and by the time you graduate you might really be onto something

The application of fake eyelashes can be a very frightening thing for a good many women. Because of this daunting fear, many women don't ever manage to learn the ins and out of it. But it is their loss, since applying false eyelashes can be most dramatic way of enhancing your makeup. It takes you from day to night makeup with one simple easy application. Basically it can be just a simple extra step during your Make Up Application process, and you have that dramatic movie star look that you wish you had, but never knew you could achieve on your own (yes, even without your own makeup artist!!).
The application of the fake eyelashes is quite simple, merely take the false eyelash strip and cut it to fit your eyes. Then you apply a thin, even layer of glue along the edge and inside edges of the strip. Wait for 30 seconds until it is tacky, then apply from inner eyes first and carefully press as close to your lashes as possible, adhering the whole eyelash strip until you reach the outer area of your eye. Hold in place for 30 more seconds, pressing firmly. Now that we have covered the application of the false eyelashes, here are a few Makeup Application tips which will help to make your false eyelashes look much more natural and indeed, make the process easier.
1. First before the application of any fake eyelashes, curl your natural lashes with an Eye Lash Curler. (That way your natural eyelashes will blend in with the artificial curl of the fake eyelashes)
2. Add a coat of mascara after curling your real eyelashes. This helps to hold in the curl from the eye lash curler. Do not apply too many layers of mascara, just a coat will do, you do not want spider lashes sticking out from under your fake eyelashes!
3. After you have pressed on and applied your fake eyelashes, sweep another coat of mascara through your eyelashes and the false eyelashes, blending them, so you can not tell that the false eyelashes are not your own. Mainly work on blending the mascara from the bottom of the eyelashes, not adding too much at the tips. You do not want to have fake looking lashes, so do not go too crazy on the mascara! this step is mainly for blending purposes, the fake eyelashes already achieving the height and drama on their own.
4. Now take an eyeliner pencil (or for a more neat and precise makeup look use liquid eyeliner) and draw over the strip attached to your eye, carefully blending and covering any glue that may be visible.
5. Add a eyeshadow color and blend over so that your whole look looks very seamless, without any over emphasis being on huge and tacky eyelashes.
Using these tips, you are sure to achieve gorgeous eyes for that glamorous night out. You will have people remember how gorgeous your eyes looked, and not how bad of a fake eyelash application you had. Good luck!
