Summer demands fuss free makeup. A naturally pretty look that would not streak when you sweat. Something that is low maintainence and which looks great on the beach.
The trouble is, that carefree, nude makeup look is a lot harder to achieve than a painted face. How do you use makeup and look like you were born that way?
Start by taking care of your skin now. Your body is made up of what you eat and drink. Eat junk food and drink lots of sweet carbonated water and caffeine, and that's what your body has to work with. Your skin reflects the state of your health. If your body is full of junk, your skin is likely to be spotty, congested or at least, far from its best. You might get away with it while you are young, but sooner or later, your excesses would catch up with you.
Skip the cola. Drink lots of plain water, spring water or mineral water instead. Get a two liter bottle of mineral water, or fill a 2 liter bottle with drinking water and make it a point to finish that by the end of the day. If you can't tolerate plain water, squeeze a lemon and add that lemon juice to your water to flavor it. This would give your body a chance to clean out the junk.
Next, cut down on that junk food.Oily fries with an oily burger is going to load your body with more grease. If your skin is spotty, it might help if you cut down on the grease and sugar. By the way, bacteria loves sugar and you can thank bacteria for those infected spots on your face. Stop feeding the bacteria, keep your hands and hair off your face and let your skin recover. Great summer makeup is best achieved with good skin, so the sooner you start, the better for you.
Now for the actual makeup. If you take care of your skin, putting on that natural beach makeup would be very simple.
Step 1 - Perfect with concealer
Depending on the state of your skin, you may or may not need concealer. If your skin is great, just use a tinted moisturizer to add color to your face. Pick a shade as close to your natural coloring as possible.
If you have zits, then use a brush and dab on a little concealer over it. If you have dark rings, hide them with a concealer as well. Use as little as possible to keep your look natural.
Step 2 - Paint with lipstick
Make your lips thoroughly kissable. Soft, rosy lips that glisten in the sun are perfect for summer... and all year round.
You'll need a touch of lipstick to add color to your bare face. Go for a pretty color like coral, rose, or a soft pink. The trick is to look in the mirror and see the color inside your lip. Pick your lipstick in a color similar to that for the most natural, prettiest look.
Take a lip brush and paint on the lipstick. Start by drawing the outline of your lips with the lip brush, then fill then in. Blot the lipstick with a tissue paper, then apply again. This would help the color stay on longer. Slick on a lip gloss for shine over the entire lips, or at least over the center of your bottom lip to make your lips look fuller.
Step 3 - Highlight with mascara
Bring the focus to your eyes. Your eyes are your best asset. Especially when framed by lush eyelashes. Since it is summer, go for a waterproof mascara. Make sure you get a good eye makeup remover to remove it each night before you sleep.
Get ready a clean mascara wand to separate your lashes. You can wash and dry the wand of an old mascara, or you could buy an eyelash comb.
Apply mascara over your upper lashes. Then touch a little mascara on your lower lashes with the tip of your mascara wand. Separate the lashes with a clean mascara brush or wand and let the mascara dry. Once the mascara is completely dry, you may apply a second coat if you want more dramatic lashes. Separate the lashes after this second coat as well.

A dynamic artist statement, artist biography and artist resume is the beginning. Effective artist portfolios and proposals are also important. Start now and stay ahead of the pack. So, what are the important elements of these essential artist presentation tools?
Artist Statement: Shaping your essential bond with viewers and sales An artist statement communicates what motivates you as an artist. It's the most personal part of your presentation; an opportunity to bring your viewers and potential buyers closer. It offers a glimpse of the person behind the work. While keeping it informative, let your personality show. Share your ideas and concerns, and how they are revealed in your work. Explain to viewers what your work means to you, not what it's supposed to mean to them. They will arrive at their own conclusions. It's okay to mention influences, but mostly keep prominent names associated with your career for your resume, where they will serve as testimonial and avoid the appearance of boasting. Give some details about your techniques and how they help you achieve your vision. Then, you might add a segment about how your approach is unique. Most general artist statements are around one page or less. Brevity sustains attention, so I lean toward three or four concise paragraphs. In some situations, a statement about a particular artwork may be requested. A statement can act as a marketing piece in certain commercial situations, which may be appropriate. So be sure to tailor your artist statement to its purpose.

It serves to highlight the information presented on your resume. It's a great way to convey a "snapshot" of your career experience.
Artist Resume: Detailing your career with clarity and professionalism Artist resumes detail the accomplishments, endeavors, and knowledge. They offer a full picture of your career, and the categories featured on the resume will depend upon your artistic discipline. It's important to update your resume on a regular basis, adding and deleting the listed activities, as appropriate. An artist resume can be one to four pages in length. Most artists have two versions prepared: a longer and shorter version. It's often best to use a professional paper stock, in white or ivory. The style of type varies, and can add to the resume's professionalism.
Artist Proposal: Standing out from the crowd with dynamic writing/shaping/editing Artists also use their portfolio to apply for specific projects, funding programs, residencies, or other competitive opportunities. These applications may ask you to submit a project description, details on your approach to the project, and a cover letter. These written materials should be tightly edited and tailored to the particular opportunity. There are many approaches to a portfolio, depending upon the discipline. One universal ingredient to a successful portfolio is a sense of continuity. The transitions between and within subject matter must cohere. Color, tone, shape, scale, all must be considered when choosing what images to include and how to position them. This process involves subjectivity as well as objectivity. Most artists benefit greatly from feedback from a trained eye, and reactions from untrained eyes can also be helpful. A portfolio is most successful when modified and tailored, with acumen, for its particular audience. All the hair clip in extentions from shops are too expensive for what they are. I got mine off ebay which were great! and cheap too! I got 20" and trimed them to the size i wanted. If i went to the local extention place by me, for 20" i would of payed approx £60 but on ebay i got them for a 10a! BARGIN !

Guitar picks are tiny, silly seemingly, unimportant tools used to play guitar strings however you might be really surprised how a guitar pick can really boost your performance. It determines your playing style, your tone and speed. If you have a particular sound in mind the right pick is like the icing on the cake. It gives just that bit of extra you need to impress.
Picking Sound
Fender, Ibanez and Jim Dunlop have each there own variety of picks in many different types, sizes, colors, and are either made of nylon, celluloid, metal or PVC. They can be soft or as hard as steel and each produce a particular sound.
In the beginning a guitar pick feels very uncomfortable in your hand. You can't really find the right way to hold it. So therefor it's best to choose a pick that will definitely give a good sound. The very soft and thin white Nylon Dunlops add an annoying sound to the tone when using them on an acoustic guitar. Harder picks don't do that and give more volume in the first place than soft picks and that's a good thing.
Control the strings
A soft and a hard pick each give a different sound, have a different effect on the strings and play a part in creating speed. I encourage everybody to start with the hardest pick you can handle. That way you will be able to use any pick softer than the one you've been using while the other way around is much harder. Switching from a soft to hard guitar pick might take some time before you can play comfortably.
If you play mainly chords and rhythm guitar you might want to use a soft pick as these help to produce a rich and fuller sound. Soft picks seem to blend all the notes within the chord that's being played and add more treble to the sound while a hard pick produces a somewhat darker sound.
Getting it Right
In rock music you will either play lead or rhythm or a combination of both. To play lead means that you're the one with the hot solo's. You want to use a hard pick with a sharp tip to improvise.
Most picks have a rounded tip and only a few have a sharp tip like the Dunlop Nylon Jazz picks and the Stubby's. These are both hard picks. The sharp tip helps to keep a clear tone when playing real fast. The problem with the Nylon Jazz picks is that the tip is as thick as the rest of the pick. Even though you want a full thick tone you still want it to sound dense and compressed . You can get that sound better using the stubby's as its tip is sharp and thin. The stubby's are not easy to work with in the beginning but once you get over that clumsiness you will have much more control over the tone and the sound you create.

To achieve a very balanced look, one should always start their makeup application with their foundation. The best way to apply your foundation is with a make up sponge. Many of us do not think about it, but when we apply our foundation with our fingers we can actually contaminate the foundation so that it changes color or just puts impurities all over our face! After you have applied the foundation it's a great idea to smooth your foundation around your hairline and your jaw line. Even if you have the best foundation it is easy to get lines around your jaw and hairline. A complexion brush or clean sponge will help to eliminate these unsightly lines so that you can wear your makeup with confidence.
After you've applied your foundation you should consider applying a brow color. If you use a brow color you'll then want to apply a brow jell to keep the brows looking groomed all day long. The next step should be applying a highlighter, if you use one. Remember that if you are attempting to hide wrinkles or lines on your face that you do not like that you should use a very light highlighter that will move with your skin. It's important to use a complexion brush to even out the highlighter when you've finished applying it so that you do not have lines showing where you have applied the highlighter and where you have not.
Applying eye make up is probably one of the most difficult things for most people to do. When you know how to apply your makeup, you'll find that making your eyes look awesome with makeup is a lot easier! The first step is to start with three colors. You'll want to choose a medium tone from the lashes to the crease in your eyelid. Next, you'll pick a shadow that is two shades darker than the first and you'll want to apply this shadow from the crease of the eye to the brow bone. Next, you'll choose a lighter shade than the first and you'll apply it from the second color to the eyebrows.
Once you've completed the application of your eye shadow you can apply your eyeliner. It's a good idea to apply eye liner with a firm bristle brush as it will give a more natural appearance so that you don't actually look like you are wearing eye liner! Remember, the key to a great makeup application is making it look like you aren't wearing any, or are wearing very little. Your eyeliner should never meet in the corners of your eyes, so be careful not to go all the way to the corner when applying.
After you've completed your eyes, you'll want to apply your blush. Blush should be applied to the cheekbone. After you've done your cheeks you should move to your lips. It's important that your blush and your lipstick match, if you are going to wear both. A great trick to make your lipstick last longer is to use your blush as the base for your lipstick. Once you've applied your blush you should apply your lipstick with a brush to give the lips a more natural look. It's a great idea to start from the outside when you are applying lipstick and work toward the center. Only use lip liner if you are trying to make your lips look fuller, but if you already have full lips you can forego the lip liner altogether.
As you can see, applying your makeup needn't be a difficult process. If you know how to apply each element of your make up like a professional you'll find that your makeup not only looks better, but that you feel better, too! Applying makeup is fun, but it is also a process that takes a little time, but it's worth it when you have all the tips and tricks to make it easy and the end product is beautiful!

A black/brown eyeliner. And by that, I don't mean black or brown. I mean like an eyeliner that has the two colors kind of mixed. I have eyeliner like that from Clinique and it says Black/Brown like that on it.
For eyeshadow, purple.
There are also some interesting ways to mix colors, like with a basic palette of eyeshadow, there might be white and brown. You can mix those two colors. I think purples the best though.
