Hi. Just wondering if anybody wears pressed powder (compact) make-up by itself on their face. I want to do this as I find that liquid makeup gives me pimples even the oil free ones. I know pressed powder is suppose to just 'seal' your makeup, but if worn on its own can it pass for a decent look?

I don't use foundation for the same reason as you, but I also think it looks un-natural [but not horrible.] But... I suggest you use CoverGirl. It is allll I will use and I absolutely love it. I've never seen anything look so natural!! ...really. I just apply the powder and sometimes if it looks odd, or I put too much on, I simply just lightly brush my hands across my face. Give Covergirl a shot! I will be shocked if it doesn't work...just find the right color/shade... not to dark, and definitely NOT too light! Good luck! =]

Should contestants be disqualified from beauty pageants if they have had cosmetic surgery?
First of all, let me say that I'm completely against the idea of beauty pageants, because they perpetuate the erroneous societal notion that the value of a girl or a woman is based solely on her looks. That being said, though, I remember seeing a few years ago an ad for a cosmetic surgeon's practice in Little Rock that had a picture of two or three Miss Arkansas contestants posing with the doctors. Call me crazy, but I can't help but think that if a person's beauty isn't natural, it doesn't count.
We all do something to enhance our beauty. One extreme is simply washing our face and cutting and brushing our hair. The other is body altering surgery to change our looks.
The question is where do we draw the line for real beauty.
I think things that enhance the beauty you have are OK for pageants. So make up is just fine. Removing hair and even coloring you hair are very accepted ways to enhance your beauty so I think those are fine also.
Surgery is where I would draw the line. If you have surgery for a bigger bust or a smaller nose, I think that should disqualify you.

Any one help with the selection of rose bushes?
I am looking for a type of rose bush that stays compact and yet is showy. The ideal would be a bush that doesn't grow over 3 ft tall. I have several now that have grown very tall and my landscape looks out of whack with some tall and some short next to them. Help please!
There are just going to be alot of answers here... you're sort of asking for a list of 'favorites'. I'd take the over all lists, and then do a little research from there. I would really recommend a rose that is grown on its own root-stock, not grafted. They generally are hardier.
I myself recommend an old polyantha rose called 'The Fairy', it's pink and will be covered with small flowers. There's a similar one, but harder to find called 'China Doll', also very good. Lastly, there's a miniature rose called 'Popcorn' that's very nice. Mine usually gets to 24-30", and I'm in horrible USDA hardiness zone 5.
