What memories are conjured up when you get a whiff of a brand new box of Crayola crayons? The scent is so unique that it can transport you back to your childhood in a heartbeat. Although I'm well into what is termed "midlife," I eagerly anticipate the experience of my son opening a new box of Crayola crayons. When he does, I'm flooded with memories of my own childhood, and the thrill and wonder of having - if I was lucky - 64 pristine colors from which to choose. The choices weren't always easy, and the box seemed to hold some unanswerable questions. Should I use Thistle or Orchid? Yellow or Lemon Yellow? Why did I have a Red Violet and a Violet Red, or a Green Yellow and a Yellow Green? What, exactly, did Raw Sienna and Raw Umber mean?
Since my childhood, many colors have been retired and others added, so my son can choose from among 120 lustrous colors that range from Wild Blue Yonder and Unmellow Yellow to Purple Pizzazz and Laser Lemon. But, like generations of children before him, my son was set to learn to draw with Crayola Crayons. Learning how to draw was a delight, but he wanted to take his art education - and his Crayola crayons - to the next level.
A couple of years ago, as luck would have it, I was watching "Good Morning America," one day. Crayola was celebrating its centennial, and there was a crayon artist named Jeffrey Robert on the program. I was amazed at the portrait he created of Charles Gibson, and was astounded that such fine art could be produced with Crayola crayons. Through his amazing photorealistic crayon art and coloring techniques, Jeffrey Robert produced art featuring beach chairs, coastal decor, as well as personalized art, wedding gifts, and prints.
After seeing Jeffrey Robert's work, my son was able to learn how to draw with Crayola crayons in a whole new way. One of the techniques the artist used was to draw in a circular motion, applying either light, medium, or heavy pressure. This produced a unique pattern as well as three unique colors. Another technique was to use straight lines, again with light, medium, or heavy pressure. A third technique was to use gradient color, gradually applying more or less pressure to achieve a smooth grade of light to dark.
My son also learned how to color by applying layers of color, one on top of the other, starting with the darkest color and ending with the lightest. He also learned the technique of blending, so he could avoid the "paint by numbers" effect.
It still astounds me to think that fine art isn't confined to oil paints, acrylic paints, pastels, chalk, and ink. It can be achieved with colors like Purple Heart, Pacific Blue, Mountain Meadow, and Pink Sherbet. Not only can anyone learn to draw with Crayola crayons, but they can take those ubiquitous wax sticks and transform them into masterpieces.

Coastal scents in general is a really good website to order from. I've watched a bunch of reviews about this palette and it seems to be highly pigmented. If you go to Youtube.com you'll see that it is one of the most popular palettes. I have 2 other palettes from coastal scents and it works great!

How long should I keep my makeup brushes for?
They are expensive MAC & Sephora makeup brushes and I wash them with a little bit of shampoo and warm water to get them clean but are they only good to keep for a certain amount of time before they dont work as good?
Brushes usually last fora year or so, but the more expensive ones like Mac last for about 2 and a half to 3 years. But you must make sure you wash them or they'll only last a couple of months.

pro photogs dont really use image editors to make pics look great. they get it right with the camera. the best way to make your pics look pro is to learn more about photography. programs like nero, gimp, photoshop and paint shop pro are often overused and make pics look fake instead of great.

How do you do that fantasy look seen on some of the summer fashion shows?
2 looks were prevalent. The first is fairy like with white eyeshadow and turquoise liner while the other is rock chick edgy.
For this article, I'll cover the rock star glam fantasy look for summer. The difference actually lies in the eyes. Ready?
1. Cleanse, tone and moisturize your face.
2. Apply a concealer that is lighter and yellowish over the dark rings under the eyes to neutralize the shadows.
3. Dot a foundation that matches your current skintone (with or without the tan) on forehead, nose, cheeks and jawline and blend in completely with your fingers so the foundation disappears into your skin.
4. Take a large powder brush and dip into your loose powder. Get it in a translucent clear shade or one that matches your skin tone. Dust off the excess powder onto the back of your hand. Then apply the powder over your entire face for a flawless finish.
5. Take a medium shade for your eyeshadow and apply it over your entire eyelid as the base.
6. Apply a liquid eyeliner in a bright metallic shade like cobalt over your upper lashline. Draw the line from inner to outer corner of the eye and thicken the line drastically as you move outwards. Wing out as you go beyond the outer edge of the eye for that exaggerated rock chick look.
7. Apply a glittery makeup over the liner. That glitter give you that fantasy look.
8, Put on false eyelashes. Then apply 3 coats of mascara, separating the lashes with a lash brush or comb and allow the mascara to dry between applications.
9. Apply a light pink blush on the cheeks.
10. Use a lip brush to paint on a rose lipstick for a subtle mouth that complements your dramatic eye makeup.
Alternatively, you could use a metallic eye makeup for the eyeshadow and a black eyeliner.

MAC Eye shadows colors: for Fall?
plumage.humid,copperplate are these nice colors for the fall I just bought Plumage yesterday and I want two more other earth tone colors from Mac. are these nice I want to try this look

Plumage is one of my longtime favs too. The gal in the vid is really showing a 80's look (which may be coming back). Either lighten up on application of the eye shades, or choose a different lip shade.
Humid is my fav e/s - can be worn all year. Depending on skintone and eye color, Shroom is a great neutral, Handwritten also for a brown that compliments plumage - Copperplate is basic color. The girl in the vid looks to have cooler skin (more pink versus someone w/more yellow/orange- who would tan), and you dont have to give up some shimmer for Fall. No real rules to makeup!!

First, I had the Canon powershot pro 1, loved it for my close-up jewelry but I closed my biz and wanted a smaller compact camera, so I got the sony dsc-t700, that is the WORST camera ever, so many problems. And the sony repair place is a bunch of idiots and will never replace it even though it was defective. I think I will go with the Nikon s70, had the one b4 it and it was great.
Wait for the Nikon S70. You've had a great experience with Nikon, stick with it. You might write Sony and tell them how surprised you are that you got such bad service at a Sony service shop.
