The use of professional makeup in the mainstream is becoming more and more prominent. The makeup used by professionals has not always been available to the public, nor has the public really wanted to use it.
In the past professional makeup was cake make up that was similar to stage makeup. It was not a look that would work on the street. As technology has evolved, though, makeup has changed. Today's high resolution technology means that makeup doesn't have to be so strong and can actually be much more like that you would wear on the street.
Professional makeup does not have to cost a lot. Many professionals use old drug store standbys and other affordable products to make stars shine. What's more, most of these products are easy to use.
Many professional makeup products are easily found in beauty reviews where the reviewer will mention the professional use of the product. The use of a certain item by professionals makes it more reliable because professionals know what stuff is good.
Here are a couple hints for applying this type of makeup straight from the professionals:
Use a professional brush for applying your eye makeup. It will give you more control, and this will help you achieve what ever results you desire- subtle to dramatic.
Use a high grade eyeliner to bring attention where you need it more. Start on the upper lid. Apply eyeliner below for a more dramatic or nighttime look. You'll find the professional quality liner apply more easily and are easier to work with.
A great example of professional makeup that is available to the average consumer is the Day to Play Pallet by Pop Beauty. This eye shadow pallet is inspired by professionals and provides a nice range of color choices that work for any need, from day to night, from office to dinner.
Deciding which hairstyle to try next is always a stressful task for any woman. Our hairstyle choice can mean the difference in looking five years older or five years younger. A woman's hair is an essential part of the "complete package", so finding the perfect one for your face shape is extremely important.
There are six basic face shapes - oval, round, square, triangle, oblong and heart shaped. To find which shape best describes your face pull your hair back and study your face in the mirror. I will list the characteristics of each face shape below, as it may be easier to understand:
o Oval - evenly proportioned, egg shaped
o Round - round at the hairline and chin line, wide face, baseball shaped
o Square - straight hairline, angled jaw line, wide face
o Triangle - wide chin with narrow forehead
o Heart shaped - upside down triangle face, narrow jaw line and widest at eye line
o Oblong - long and thin face with rounded chin and jaw line, chin will appear pointed, much like oval
If you are still having trouble deciding which face shape matches yours, try drawing the outline of your face onto the mirror with lipstick. Step away from the mirror and study the shape you have drawn on the mirror. Pick the one it most closely resembles. You will most likely be correct, but if you have questions go to a professional to have them determine your face shape.
Now that you have determined your face shape, let's see what the best hairstyle will be for your shape! The oval faced shape has the most leeway with hairstyles. Almost any style will complement this face shape. For instance, an oval face shape could easily carry off a short pixie cut or a shoulder length layered bob.
A round face needs the illusion of length to thin the face out a bit, so a longer hairstyle is best for you. If you have a round face and you have short hair at the moment part your hair on the side. It will interrupt the roundness of the face, whereas a center part would not. Bangs should be avoided on a round face.
If you have a square face you want your hairstyle to soften the hard lines of the square, so short layers in longer hair are best. Bangs that are swept to the side also soften the sharp lines of the square face. This face shape can handle lots of wispy layers, so take advantage!
If you have a triangle face shape you want to find a hairstyle that narrows the chin line and widens the forehead. In other words, a hairstyle that has a lot of volume on the top of the head is best. Do not choose a hairstyle that has a lot of volume around the chin. This face shape looks best with a cut that is below the chin or longer.
A heart shaped face needs a little balancing around the chin area. You tend to be pointed in this area, so you want to add the illusion of fullness. For instance, a rounded bob would look great on this face shape. To add a little softness to the forehead a side swept bang would also look great for this face shape. Avoid any style that will cling to closely to the face, though.
A short hairstyle complements the oblong shaped face. You don't want anything past your shoulders because it will only lengthen the face and you definitely don't need that. This face shape can carry off bangs with perfection! Wearing a side part is also flattering to this face shape. Asymmetric hairstyles look great on this face shape!
Now, I hope I have helped you to find the perfect hairstyle for you! If you have any questions, please donÂ’t hesitate to e-mail me at erinlove@panachebyerin.com. I will be happy to help you. Otherwise, it is time to make that much needed and anticipated hair appointment!

What are some of the best hair cuts for heart shaped faces?
I have really long hair that is naturally curly, but easily straightened. I want to get my hair cut, but I do not know what I should do. I want to keep it fairly long, nothing above my shoulders. So, what are some of the cutest hair cuts for heart shaped faces? Links would be greatly appreciated.
Chin-length or longer styles. Side-parted hair styles. Swept-forward layers around the upper face, gently wispy bangs. A chin length bob is great on your face shape! This creates a balanced look by giving fullness where you need it. You can wear shorter styles, however, if you are a dramatic heart shape you need to leave weight in the back nape area. This will achieve more balance between your dramatic cheekbones and more narrowing chin.
Avoid:
Short, full styles that emphasize upper face. Height at the crown. Severe, slicked back looks. If you are a dramatic heart shape, the short full styles with tapered necklines which emphasize the upper face will make you look top heavy. Too much height at the crown will give the appearance of a longer and narrower chin. Just remember if you have a dramatic heart shape face, you have great cheekbones to emphasize! Don't miss the boat by getting a cut which is to top heavy.

As women, we wear a variety of hats and work in a variety of professions. Whether you're all business all day, running a business from home or the executive director of your household and the local car pool coordinator, you likely have events that you must attend which require evening makeup. If you have enough in the bank to hire a professional make-up artist to apply it, you're in luck because it can be a tricky and intimidating chore. If you're like most of us, you'll be left to do it alone.
So, how do you manage the darker and dramatic shades that bring your features to life at night? Before you get too nervous, relax. Fortunately, the most flattering evening make-up also happens to be the easiest for put on. Try just one of these easy makeup tips to make you appear relaxed and pretty for those party pictures.
For your eyes, try a jewel tone shadow or simply line your lids. Color on the eyes is always refreshing, regardless of the time of year. Try rich shades in emerald greens, purples, and sapphire blues. These are both flattering and eye-catching; as an added bonus, they compliment all eye colors. To create a smokier look, skip the shadow and simply line your lids with a charcoal, black kohl or deep plum pencil. Follow either of these with a few coats of volumizing mascara and your party perfect eyes can be done in 5 minutes flat.
Moving on to your lips, swipe a coat of gloss on or choose a deeper lip shade; it's really up to you. Either option is quick and easy. Gloss does double duty by not only dressing up your lips, but buy making them appear fuller as well. It only takes a little to get the effect. Dressy and sexy when applied correctly, a deep lip shade takes a bit longer to perfect, but it can be done. However, before choosing a shade, you may want to consult a makeup artist at your local cosmetics counter; that way you'll know you've got the right shade the first time.
Rosy cheeks make you look happy and really bring a light to your face. With a simple brush or two, you can wake up your skin and look flushed and exhilarated with minimal effort. To highlight your cheekbones, stick with softer shades and rub a cream blush on the apples of your cheeks; you can highlight the look by dusting your face with a sheer powder appropriate for your skin tone. If you'd prefer to go without the look of the highlighter, just tap the cream blush on your cheeks and head out the door.
Finally, remember these quick tips to make sure you continue to look great all night long; simple and easy, anyone can use them. Makeup artists have long been designing retractable lip brushes. For a quick touch-up during your night out, without having to carry both the tube and the brush, swipe your retractable over your tube before you leave the house and then pop it in your purse; no muss, no fuss. Use a matte lipstick or a long-wearing formula if you want to avoid the touch-up all together.
Self tanner used to be orange and fake looking, but not anymore. With the worry of sun damage on everyone's mind, self tanner has come a long way. Use it all year long so you'll have color in every season; even if your makeup wears off half-way through the night, you won't be left looking pale. Lastly, stock your makeup bag with blotting papers to keep the shine away as the evening wears on.

The eyes are the windows to your soul, and it does not hurt to attract potential mates with them as well. There are so many ways to make your eyes "pop" that it can be quite confusing. What eye shadow should I use? Are eyelash curlers necessary? What order should each item be used in? These are all questions that plague the heads of frantic women applying eyelash mascara just before a date. This article will simplify the process of eyelash mascara so that your eyes look beautiful without being overdone.
Step 1. Get out that eyelash curler. Eyelash mascara plus an eye lash curler equals fireworks! No, really. If you opt for eyelash mascara that lengthens, it is not going to do its job without a curler. Although these tricky devices can be off-putting at first, they are actually not difficult to use. For maximum results, put the eyelash curler in front of your blow dryer for a few seconds. Then, gently press your top eyelashes together with the curler and hold for a few seconds. Repeat with the other eye.
Step 2. Apply 1-2 coats of mascara. Eyelash mascara is the most popular way to illuminate the eyes. It opens up the eyes and draws attention to them as well. The kind of eyelash mascara you should use depends on your wants or needs. Do you want to lengthen, darken or add volume to your lashes? The most natural way is to find eyelash mascara that does a little bit of all three.
Step 3. Run a thin line of dark eye shadow along your eyelid. This simple trick adds dimension and mystery to your eyes. This step is often skipped due to time constraints, but it only takes a few seconds. Taking a thin brush, dip it gently in dark or black eye shadow and apply it along the base of your top eyelid. This creates a dark and provocative line between your eyelashes and your eyelid. In just 3 easy steps, you can have eyes that motion for guys to come hither.
Looking your best can add a boost of confidence. It is a whole lot of fun, too! For more beauty tips, check out Simple Nail Designs, where you can learn how to do a French Nail Manicure.
What Mascara would suit my eye lash type?
I have quite long eyelashes, and cause they are so long they seem to 'droop' and won't curl up, if I use an eyelash curler or anything... The lashes also seem to 'clump' together when I put mascara on them, even trying to seperate them with one of them comb things doesn't work...
I've tryed may different masacaras, different brands etc... Is there a particular one I should go for next time I buy a new one? Thanks.
I have similar eyelashes. The best I have found is No 7 Stay Perfect. It is not a waterproof but does not smudge at all and it goes on a dream - no clumping or beading.
It doesn't advertsise itself as volumizing or anything but it does makes my lashes look thick and defined.
I've tried quite a few more expensive ones and this is the best.

Despite the increasing popularity of television, computer games and web surfing, reading books continues being a preferred pastime for many. An increasing number of readers are choosing to take advantage of audiobooks, an audio recording of a book. If you have been reluctant to try out audio books, take into account the benefits of "reading with your ears," which can make experiencing a book more convenient and engaging.
Economical. It can be easy to forget the money-saving value of audio books. Downloading or buying one on Compact disc, especially with a subscription plan, is frequently less expensive than buying a hardcover -- and often even a soft cover book.. If you take advantage of a promotion, you may even be able to get two or more for the cost of one hardcover book.
Purchase or rent. If you are accustomed to borrowing books from the library rather than purchasing them, you can continue to do so with audiobooks since a number of companies feature rental programs.
Free up space (and weight). Many of us maintain sizable collections of books in our homes. A number of these books we may not want to display or do not intend to read again. Consequently, we banish them to cardboard boxes and exile them to the basement or closet where they accumulate dust and simply take up space. Whether your audiobook collection contains 3 or 300 titles, it will only ever occupy a mere few square inches, the dimensions of your digital media player (and a full mp3 player weighs no more than an empty one!) Transitioning to audiobooks means that you can use the space in your house, briefcase or purse much more efficiently.
Avoid eye strain. Devoted readers understand that prolonged amounts of time spent reading may cause eye strain. As an alternative, you can "read with your ears" for many hours and you can hold your eyes open or shut as you listen -- they'll never come to be fatigued.
Read just about anywhere. It is possible and practical to listen to a book as you walk to work or while you are on the exercise bike -- without needing to be bothered about holding the book, flipping pages or continually losing your place as you try to accomplish two things at the same time.
A new dimension to reading. Professional narrators will oftentimes perform using distinctive voices and accents as they read aloud the lines of different characters in a book. This adds a new new dimension to the reading experience, helping to bring to life the characters and situations while you listen, making reading a more immersive experience. Many professional audio book narrators draw from a background in theater, allowing them to genuinely deliver a character's southern twang or Brooklyn accent.
Read together. Sharing a book with others is easier. If both you and your husband or wife or kid want to read the same book, there is no need for one to wait around until the other finishes reading it. You can listen to it together in the car or truck during a excursion or on your home stereo as you spend true quality time together.

Make-up can be very expensive. Sometimes you might wonder if you are paying for 'Chanel' the product, or 'Chanel' the brand. Apart from the name on the package, is there really that much of a tangible difference between the high end brands and the more everyday ones?
There are, however, some basic rules that you should follow when purchasing make-up - no matter what the brand. Let's take a look at some of them below.
Beware of the Shelf Life
Make-up does not have a very long shelf-life. There is no need to buy in huge volumes, as it is likely to become unusable before you have a chance to use most of it up! Mascara, for example, has a shelf life of only 3 months. After this time it can dry up and potentially cause eye infections. To a degree, powders tend to have longer shelf lives due to the lack of water content.
Eyeshadow
When purchasing eyeshadow, pigment is important. Pigment gives the colour depth, and you should try a sample on your skin to see how it looks - never trust the colour straight off the container. If you are after a neutral look, pigment becomes a much smaller factor, so you can opt for the less expensive brands.
Lipstick
As with eyeshadow, the same rules apply here. If you are after vibrant colour, make sure you purchase the right brand (even if it means spending that little bit extra). If you are after a more neutral tone, then the cheaper brands will be more than suitable.
Nail Polish
Nail polish will always chip - no matter how expensive the brand. It is therefore OK if you decide to use a cheaper product, but ensure you spend money on a great top coat. This will help to prolong it's life.
What really makes brown eyes stand out? I've tried brown eyeshadow and black eyeliner, but I'm just curious to find out what makes them REALLY stand out Thanks guys!
shades of beige, peach, corals, copper, pinks, pale purples (pinky purples) and browns..they help make your eyes *pop*.
A basic idea...
Try using a nude type shade that is peach or beige as a base color and/or highlighter color. Use a pinkish purple or coral shade as an all over lid color (except under the brow), then for the crease use a mid toned brown or beige. Line with a coppery brown. You can also use a pink eyelining/highlighter pencil to line just at the inner corners of the eye for a more refreshed/wide eyed look. Use a dark brown or brown/black mascara to finish it off.
Have fun altering things and experimenting...I hope this helps.

Salon visits can be scary experiences for small children: They are boring, full of strangers and strange smelling products, you are being ordered to sit still for ages, whilst some idiot is doing terrible things to your hair which you didn't want to happen in the first place. Life is sooo unfair!
So how do you as a parent, avoid, annoying the stylist, upsetting your child and getting yourself stressed? Well this is where your best child psychology skills come into play! Sometimes your child will have unwarranted fears and you have to help to overcome them. Creating trust by taking their concerns seriously is the first and most important step. Promising a treat can also help. Best of all is to check in your local area to see if there is one of the growing number of new specialized children's salons available. Salon chains like Cartoon Cuts are designed to make the hair cut experience more positive and entertaining for small children: toys, video games, specially shaped chairs and specially-trained stylists, all help to ensue the experience is more like going to a theme park rather than a visit to the doctor.
Home Sweet Home
However, if your child is afraid of the hairdresser's, then try to cut their hair at home. They will feel safe and comfortable and you will save time and money. You can do it yourself if you have the skills - or the bravery. Cutting hair for a child is basically the same for an adult, except that a child's hair is usually thin and baby soft. Keep the bangs approx. 1/2" from the eyebrows. If the child's hair is thin, avoid short cuts for now until their hair comes in thicker. Shape around the face if you're trying to grow it long. If you don't have any haircutting experience, you might want to seek out a step by step guide on children's hair cutting, or get someone to do it for you.
Putting on the Style
Whatever you do, remember that today's media-savvy, celebrity-crazy kids want to look good. Children start to take an interest in their own hair style from an early age; even the kindergarten set want to be in-style. They want their hair to be like their best friend or even a television character. Boys that used to be seen only in ball caps are now having their hair bleached and highlighted.
Finding the right hair style for a child is usually about finding a cool, fun, and easy-to-manage child hair style that suits your youngster's active lifestyle. But you may experience resistance - as children get older they start to have very definite opinions of how they want to wear their hair. This hairstyle preference will surface in early childhood and continue throughout the teen years and into adulthood. Many a growing child will argue with their parents over how they want to wear their hair to school. At this stage of development the hair becomes a major identity factor.
Hair Care 101
The key is to be encouraging; as children start to take an interest in their own hair and how they style it, this is the time to encourage them to follow an entire regime of good hair hygiene practices. It is important to show a child (when they are willing), how to properly shampoo and rinse their own hair. You can also teach them about towel blotting, detangling, combing and brushing their hair. Help them build a good hair hygiene schedule so that they learn the importance of keeping their hair clean and neat. Try also to get them to develop good eating habits because healthy hair is very dependent on high quality carbohydrates and plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Good nutrition will promote shine and condition at any age.
Tips for Tip-Top Hair
Washing - use a mild shampoo, preferably in the child's favorite color or scent. Sometimes children are more willing to wash their hair with a fun shampoo, especially if it doesn't sting their eyes.
Combing/brushing - try to create trust and reassurance by allowing them to comb and brush their own hair on their own terms. Do not brush your child's hair 100 strokes before bedtime in the traditional manner - this will over stimulate the sebaceous glands and make the hair greasy and heavy. Doing a quick brush to get the tangles out should be sufficient. Combing the hair will promote shine and condition. Remember to use a comb on wet hair rather than a brush or you risk creating static electricity, which leads to breakage.
Accessories - give your child high quality combs and brushes and teach them the proper way to care for their hair to instill good grooming habits that will last a lifetime. Purchase some "hair friendly" clips and hair ties to help a child keep their hair off their face, and reduce the chance of tangling or matting. Stay away from any hairclips with sharp teeth, because they can cut into the hair and cause potential hair damage.
Tangles - all parents know that dealing with tangles is a nightmare for both parent and child. Here's how to reduce the trauma of removing tangles:
1. Hold the section of hair you're trying to comb out.
2. Hold it taut so the child won't feel you ripping through the ends. 3. Spray a good leave-in detangler on the knot.
4. You can also comb conditioner in while the child's hair is still wet. Children need conditioner too (avoid heavy types and stick with conditioners that are specifically called "light" conditioners).

As much as he enjoys playing the snow, winter is a dangerous time for dogs, especially those that stay outside. An A/C dog house unit isn't just for keeping pets cooler in the summer; they also keep them cozier in winter. But it doesn't stop there; there are plenty of things you and your dog can do to prepare for the coming cold.
A/C Dog Heaters
These lightweight, portable units are box-shaped and take up little room. Made from durable, weather-resistant materials, you can keep it outside without worrying about it shorting out. How it works is that it pumped air directly in your dog's house through a hose connected to the unit. And it's very energy efficient. Most models come with the tools and instructions on how to cut a hole in your dog house for the hose, which means that these units work with essentially any dog house. Then, set the temperature using the controlled thermostat and your worries are over. The A/C dog heater doesn't just keep the temperature at a comfortable level; it also acts as a dehumidifier and regularly circulates air, which can become stale and stuffy in winter.
Bedding
Another way to improve upon the A/C unit and the dog house itself is to look for adequately warm bedding. Though fleece and other natural fibers are ultra plush and great for inside your home, they won't work as well outdoors. Stick to weather-resistant, waterproof bedding specifically manufactured for outdoor use. They're made with a poly filling and have easy to wash nylon covers. If you don't have adequate fabric bedding, straw is a good natural insulator and bedding material that's cheap and easy to come by, especially if you own a farm. Just be sure to regularly change the straw out for cleanliness and so there aren't insect infestations.
Heated Mat
In addition to bedding, you can even buy your pet a heated mat to lie on. These convenient units are perfect for crates and when you're on the go. Simply plug it into your car's cigarette lighter and you're powered up.
Jackets
You might only think to dress up your dog on Halloween and other holidays, but pet clothing in the winter has a very functional purpose. It's especially beneficial to short-haired breeds and small dogs. Many companies specialize in dog outerwear, including sweaters and jackets, so you can find one that suits you and your pup. If your dog isn't used to wearing clothes, it might be difficult getting them to wear it the first time around. Try it out for regular, short intervals and use treats as a distraction.
Boots
Pet booties are great for a variety of reasons. The bottom of your dog's paws isn't as thick as you think. They can suffer from frostbite and other irritants after long walks or from just running around in the yard. Dog booties keep paws warm and dry, provide more traction on icy surfaces, and keep salt off of their paws, which can irritate and crack the pads.
Prepare your dog
In addition to A/C dog units, heating pads, and clothing, you can also help your dog out getting his body acclimated. Leave your pet outside for short intervals that gradually get longer so they can naturally ease into the weather. You can also feed them a diet rich in proteins and fish oils to build up and thicken their coats. As a side note, most outdoor pets require more food overall in winter to maintain the same energy levels. As far as grooming, keep your pet's coat longer than you would in the summer so it can provide better natural insulation.

How would an evolutionist combat the creationist "eye" argument effectivley?
i.e Creationists often argue that organs as complex as the eye must be designed as they supposedly cannot come about by chance , how is is this typically countered by evolutionists?
also... If humans were placed on earth fully formed by God ( according to creationists ) what was God's intention for organs such as the appendix (the grass-digestion function was part of evolution) ? Furthermore, what is the incentive for an entity that entirely perfect to create and devote itself to a creation that is truly imperfect (humanity) and limited by empirical boundries? Bit long I know but I want to milk my 5 points to the max. I know these 'ist' arguments get a slightly heated so dont take my queries personally , I am just thirsty for knowledge.
Hold on. Dawkins had a great explanation in the 80s.
The History channel had a great show called "The History of the Eye". One cool observation was: prehistoric animals that are the first known organism with an "eye" grew their many lenses by secreting calcium they ate from their environment. These would be the ancestors of flies and bugs.
This is the schedule information on "Evolve" from the history channel.
