A quick trick that can prove to be quite effective in getting you to sit up straight is placing a pen on your back while you are sitting down, if the pen falls down it means you are once again back to your bad posture. Just keep doing this and you'll eventually make a habit out of it.
Walk with confidence: if you feel good about yourself, you tend to walk with more confidence. For a quick pick-me-up boost, try wearing heels, doing so would make you want to walk more elegantly especially when your heels fit your perfectly. Walking in heels doesn't only help you maintain good posture but looking tall also creates the illusion of looking slimmer and more elegant. Try it especially when you are having a pretty blah day.
So you see, getting that perfect body posture need not be as hard as it seems, what it really boils down to actually is that you should just put more effort into it and discipline yourself well enough to keeping your shoulders straight, avoid slouching and just learning to walk tall even though you are just going to the grocery. If one person in the West symbolizes the growing resistance to corruption it is Eva Jolly, the Paris based investigating magistrate in the Elf Aquitaine affair. Some $400m of the then state owned oil company funds are said to have been diverted for corrupt purposes. Judge Jolly, 57, has shown an unprecedented determination, verging on a personal crusade, to tackle France traditional untouchables? Political leaders and major business figures as she pressed her investigations she summoned some of Paris most prominent figures. If they would not testify she jailed them.
Among those tried this year over the scandal was Roland Dumas, the former French foreign minister, once a close confidant of President Mitterrand. Dumas faced many allegations including that of forcing Elf bosses to hire his mistress Christine Deviers-Joncour. The couple are said to have enjoyed Elf largesse, buying an exclusive Left Bank flat and lavish gifts for each other with the company funds. Before Eva Jolly appointment seven years ago no corporate financial prosecution of any substance had ever been brought before a French tribunal. The Elf Aquitaine is the most recent successful investigation for Ms Jolly and it has been just one of many French cases that received heavy media coverage in the year. Allegations against a former Paris Mayor, later President Jacques Chirac, were rekindled after a property developer said in a video recording he handed over bribes in Chirac presence. President Mitterrand son, Jean-Christophe, was also under investigation for engaging in illegal arms trafficking to Angola and money laundering while serving as his father African Affairs adviser in the early 1990s.
In March 2001 the voters of Paris handed the city government over to the socialist party for the first time. The outgoing mayor Jean Toberi and the ruling conservatives had become enmeshed in sleaze allegations involving public contracts, campaign kickbacks and vote rigging.
Within Western Europe the culture of bribery is slowly eroding, both in countries where passing a cash filled 'brown envelope' has been the only way to get things done or where companies pay large 'commissions' to secure overseas contracts. But corruption is far from extinct. The awareness of public perception has dramatically increased in the last ten years.

I use to volunteer at Disabled Veterens of America every Christmas. I would dress up like a clown or mime and entertain children. Well, every year there was a Santa there who would talk to the children and ask what they wanted for Christmas. Some of the children were highly disabled and he would help get them out of the wheel chairs and let them sit on his lap. Sometimes they would drool and he wouldn't even crack a joke. He was kind and caring and often brought gifts or candy. He always asked the parents what was " appropriate" for the kids and was very considerate. a few times, he even got up and sang with the band that was playing. I remember singing Jingle Bell Rock with him and boy could he move!!
My worst Santa experience was when i was doing a Christmas show at the mall( singing) when I was 16. I went to sit on Santa's lap for picture opportunity and he was drunk beyond belief! Kill it, cook it, eat it... Could you?
I was watching a show last night called kill it, cook, it eat it.
It's set in a studio where a particular animal is kept (depending on the focus of the show). Yesterday was about baby goats, the focus of this show was how young is too young for animals to be slaughtered.
They showed the animal being slaughtered (It was done behind a screen and silence was required). The audience were invited to watch . The slaughter is humane and there is someone to verify the conditions at each stage. The animal was then gutted. It was given a stamp of approval after being deemed fit for human consumption.
It was then moved over and was prepared and cooked, then served to the audience who decide whether they can eat it or not.
Do you think you could you eat it?

Personally I think I could eat it providing I knew that the animal had been well looked after previously.
I'm under no illusions as to where meat comes from and I personally beleive that thanks to supermarket mass production, cheap imports and processed meat we generally as a nation seem to have lost touch with where our food comes from.
Meat seems to be full of additives and packaged so it bears absolutely no resemblence to how it looked when it first came from the animal, it is low quality and often comes from poorly kept animals. Chicken nuggetts are a perfect example. They come from battery chickens that are crammed into a tiny space in very poor conditions, once they have been killed the meat is pumped full of water and various other additives before being reformed into the shapes and packaged. The fact that they do not look like they have come from an animal is one reason why kids can't resist them.
I think that we need to get back in touch with where meat comes from so we can show an interest in how the animals are looked after prior to slaughter, then the consumer is provided with an informed choice. That way at least we will know the quality of what we eat.

Accurist 6w50 chronograph repair of "pushers"?
do i have to remove the pushers in this chronograph in order to open the movement?

You wanted Ralph Lauren's Safari Tan, but instead of paying for name-brand paint you chose to have the computer match the paint chip. Even though the computer came very, very close, the paint you bought looks more like brown mustard. What can you do? Obviously you can go back to the store and buy another gallon of paint, and cross your fingers that it will be the right color this time. Or, if you like to play with color and love a challenge, you can fix your mistake and turn those walls into a work of art.
The easiest way to adjust the color without completely covering it up is to do a color wash. You will need a quart of paint in a second color in the same sheen as the base color. Choosing the second color will probably take as much deliberation as the first one did, but don't apologize for taking a long time at the paint store. Even though the second color choice is important, the good news is that you have more room for error with a color wash.
A good rule of thumb for choosing color combination's is to stick with the same color, but apply the color wash in a shade darker or lighter. That rule works really well if you like that color to begin with, but this article is geared for the situation where you hate it. The next best choice is to choose one color over on the color wheel.
In the example mentioned above, the base color was a bad version of Ralph Lauren's Safari Tan. The second color chosen was Valspar's Brilliant Oak, 3003-7A (no computer color-matching was attempted the second time around).
It helps to have an artist's eye, but don't be afraid to rely on your common sense. If you want camel instead of gold, it makes sense to choose a shade of orangey-brown to get closer to the color you desire. Ask an artistic friend if you don't trust your own judgment. Or buy a sample size and experiment with it before you commit to the walls. Even if you buy a quart of the color you think is going to be perfect, experimentation is essential.
Color washing is easy to do, but it can be time consuming, and it helps to get your technique and desired effect down pat before you begin to slap paint on the walls. Ideally, you could experiment on a wall in your house that needs painting in the near future, but in lieu of that luxury you can buy sheets of paper at the paint store for your samples. Paint a base coat, then let it dry while you are mixing your wash solution. Color wash can also be called color glazing.
The mixture is simple. You could buy glaze from the paint store, which has the benefit of not drying as quickly. The longer wet period allows you more time to play with it and touch up the edges. It's a good idea for a beginner, but not necessary. Mix the paint with water and you will have the same effect.
The amount of water you mix in depends on the look you want. Start by mixing a solution of one part paint to one part water, then adjust it by adding more water if you want the base color to show through more, or more paint if you want it to look more dramatic. Apply the color wash in small sections (one foot by one foot) so that you can easily work in the edges for a seamless look. Also pay attention to corners and edges.
You can apply the color wash in dozens of ways: rag it on, sponge it on, rag off, sponge off, brush on... Each technique is slightly unique from the other, but in the end you should have a wall with more depth.
For the Safari Tan/Brilliant Oak example, the color wash was applied with a 3-inch brush in overlapping X motions. After dipping the brush in the color wash, the excess was squeezed out before applying. After brushing out the desired section, the painter continued to brush around the section, blending in the old with the new, and brushing on new areas with less paint on the brush. Some of those areas were purposely left lighter to allow for variation in the wall color. A second coat of glaze, watered down even more, was applied with a 6-inch dragging brush in wavy strokes. The second coat helped to blend the colors and any blotchy spots.
Plan to spend several hours more on color washing than you would if applying regular paint with a roller. But if you are willing to take a little more time, you can turn your disappointing paint color choice into a dazzling success story.

How do I clean a gold plated toilet brush holder?
I have a wall mounted gold plated toilet brush holder. I have noticed a build up of what I assume is room spray and possibly urine(?). The appearance is of a dried liquid, and feels rough to the touch. I have tried some hot soapy water, and a good rub,but that hasn`t worked. Has anyone got any suggestions. I live in the UK.
I would suggest soaking some paper towels in vinegar, then lay them on the holder so that they stick and can stay there. Alternatively, you can use rages soaked in vinegar lay them over it. Let it sit for as long as possible. A good 8 hours should do it.

The art of contouring and shaping a face is just that, an art. You can slim down a full face and fill out a narrow one using foundation, powder and blush. Remember that light brings forward and dark recedes. To highlight a feature, lighten it; to minimize a point, darken it.
Wide Nose: Shade sides of nose from bridge to nostril; blend out towards cheeks.
Full Cheeks: Shade a triangle with one long side along the lower edge of the cheekbone, a short side near the hairline to the earlobe, the third side to a point just under the center of the eye.
Broad Forehead: Shade a triangle over the brow back into the temple.
Long Nose: Shade under the tip of the nose.
Slack Jaw Line: Shade just under the jaw line.
Long and Narrow Face: Apply blusher at outer edge of the face out towards the ear to suggest width.
Round Face: Blush applied high on the cheekbone will slim the face.
